Well the first two posts of this thread started out good, then it just turned into another "2.1 anything goes thread"

I have spoken to a total of 6 Eris users that all tell me they have the update. Some I talked to on twitter and some have PMed me here. None of them want to speak and get attacked by the members here. :(

Pretty sad if you ask me, it's a shame that some people start flaming for no real good reason.

What a shame, OTD. :(

I've now got eight co-workers and friends who've received the OTA. Only one joined an online forum to talk about it.
 
That was my sentiment exactly boys and girls.

As one person put it.

...I didn't think I'd have to break out the video camera and record my day so that a bunch of people on the net would believe me. Figured I'd just tell them and they would be happy for me.......all those people are acting like crazed piranha.

I can't say I blame anyone for not wanting to be attacked. I have asked them to look through things and compare to VZW list of features to see what they notice. None were running leaks, they all had 1.5.

That's kind of what I was regarding as flaming, maybe my wording was off but personally I see that as flaming as well. What attracted me to this forum was the helpful information I was reading. Even if I'm annoyed at a question or post, if I decide to respond I try my hardest to still be respectful.

The problem with this forum is lack of creativity.

Only idiots demand proof some shmoe has the new rom... the smart ones want proof OTD's avatar is really her... and proof shes female :cool:


Maybe a video, just to be REAL sure its not shopped...

I saw that same avatar years ago on a different MB used by someone with a different sn.

Come on, you really didn't mean that. ;) Anyway, thanks for the info on getting it into a CSV, but I have not been able to locate a program yet that will do it. I did d/l Lookout which sort of does the same thing albeit to their website. Any port in a storm.
Hard to not hijack around here, too friendly a place. But that's a good thing.:)
 
Please, people, if you get the OTA messege, HOLD!
Put that bad boy on a USB cable and connect it to your PC.
Do
adb shell > logcatOTA.txt
in terminal

accept the OTA.
Let everything do its thing
and give us the txt file @_@

That would speed the OTA passage by 1 million lol
 
Here is a solution: why doesn't the creator of the thread have the ability to delete posts? Then they could tidy up their own garbage w/o burdening a moderator to do it.

question: on doing the adb logcat, there is bound to be some information in the log that a wise person might not want to end up on the interwebs. what to grep for exactly in the logs? sorry, this might be mentioned somewhere, but EOD and too messed up to read through all that stuff.

Download this. It is the HTC keyboard modded to include speech to text key and works great. :D
