Illegal Immigration simply cannot be tolerated any longer.

Show me a K or Q from one, then.

There are what, 12-16 publicly held insurance companies. All of them (maybe one exception, I'm too lazy to remember them all) do business in more than one state.

Show me the K or Q detailing the revenue / expenses for one of the subsidiaries.

ok... pick a subsidiary.

...(I guess it depends on what you mean by "immigration").
Immigration, IMO, is when you move from one country/place, to another country/place.

...Romans, Vikings, Celts, Normandy...
Nope, nope, nope & nope.

For any of those to be right, or for byteware's original statement to be anywhere near true you'd have to make some hugely tenuous definitions of countries, immigration and foundation.

Actually, immigration is defined as the act of moving to another country with the intention of remaining there permanently. There is more to it than simply occupying space where one does not belong. I suppose illegal immigration is the act of sneaking over the border with some other intention.

For all those that seem think the the U.S. has some sort of obligation to bring the less fortunate parts of the world out of poverty by opening its borders, take a look at this video. It uses gumballs for a visual representation of immigration numbers as to make it easy for even the so called "Elite" to understand.

Immigration, World Poverty and Gumballs

In short, allowing the current levels of both legal and illegal immigration will not help individuals in the impoverished countries of the world, but but will negatively affect the USA. Help others in assisting in the betterment of their own lands, not by bringing them to ours. I support legal immigration, but current levels need to be curtailed. Illegal immigration on the other hand needs to be stopped dead cold.

This is the best visual illustration I've ever seen. Good find

Bravo, enough said. Now all that awaits you are the Doubting Thomas or two.

I saved your link so I can refer to it. I love these visuals that put complex things into easy to understand forms.

Quick note on that... health care is NOT a right. It's a privilege... at least before the healthcare reform bill. My friend's younger sister will finally be able to get at least some form of healthcare. Before, she was denied left and right because of her preexisting conditions.

Quick note that... opinions should not be construed as facts.

Lol. Ye thanked the wrong guy, I think.... :D

But yes. The gumball demonstration videos are extremely eye opening, and make exceptionally good sense. If we wanted to really help others in humanitarian fashion, our dollars would stretch MUCH MUCH further if we were applying them to help in other countries. Often, it costs as much to feed one person here as it does to feed four or more in many other countries.

And you have to realize that using Mexico as a benchmark for poverty is also a grave error, as it is still much better than many countries out there which make Mexico look quite well off.

It goes both ways. America wasn't "founded" on immigration if you're looking at it that way -- it was founded by English settlers. They didn't immigrate because no country existed until they founded it.

This is a silly argument to be having for exactly that reason. ;)

Though frankly, I don't see why you don't think invading with the intention of conquering/remaining wouldn't count as immigration. It meets your criteria.

Whether you believe in creation or evolution.

Human life didn't originate in Britain. It moved there. People immigrated there.

Even in the locations where creationists and evolutionists believe human life developed. Those nations have been reshaped by immigration so many times that they fall well within these claims.

See above.

Very good illustration of the problem. I suspect, however, the open borders crowd may not agree...

Well some parts of Mexico (near South and North) are very very much third world.
The income disparity is huge there, as it is in most developing countries (even the US's which is terrible compared to most developed countries seems fantastic compared to theirs')
Its the same in many places, among developed countries the ex-communist states are worst, e.g. in Russia a few clever people called Oligarchs (sth like that) took over most state industries, or in Slovakia where decades of crap commie governments left unacaptably large portions of it STILL extremely poor.

You're right about the income disparity there and here. It's pretty discouraging, and I see the shrinking middle class in both countries as cause for concern.

You were talking about immigration as the foundation of countries, claiming that all countries in existence today were founded on immigration; I was just pointing out you were wrong, but if you include immigration from the point that the first modern human left Africa then yes, I guess America owes it's very foundation to those first emmigrants

Like I said, tenuous at best.

Golly sakes, you are correct, sir. My apologies. It is a great way to explain things to the undereducated.

Great point. I wonder if some people think Neil Armstrong illegally immigrated to the moon and NASA represents an invading or occupying force.

Well there was people in the USA (in many areas) before English settlers (same with South America and Spanish settlers)... I don't think there was anyone around on the Moon when Armstrong landed (unless it's a government cover up!). :p
