Root I'm in a pickle...

Earlier today I decided to Root my Evo 4G...
I used Revolutionary to go S-Off and I was HOPING Revolutionary would DL my CWM for me. Well It failed everytime when attempting to download so I compiled a PC36IMG.zip which contained CWM 2.4 and it updated through Fastboot and everything seemed fine and I proceeded to boot and BAM! Stuck at the htc EVO 4G screen.... I've done all I could, loading different ROM's reverting to stock roms.. wiping all my stuff.. Nothing works.. I can only enter CWM 2.4 recovery when I update the PC36IMG.zip and decline a reboot and go straight to Recovery from Fastboot. My guess, After I flashed CWM 2.4 for the first time I declined a reboot and when straight in to flash SuperUser. Well I'm thinking I messed up somewhere along those lines or I flashed a bad Recovery. Anyway I'm 15 and can't go long without my EVO, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the Rooting Gingerbread for Dummies and read entire OP. Ocn did a wonderful job with it. It even has a section on how to change the Recovery. Get rid of CWM and use AMON RA its a better recovery than Clockwork
 
I usually end up quickly posting something (sometimes) helpful and then as an after thought going back and editing for the links to make it easier for them. :cool:

Absolutely.

Go here:

Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

Download PC36IMG_RA_2.3.zip
Delete the _RA_2.3.zip and put on the root of your sd card
Turn off your phone.
Hold power down and volume until you het to hboot (white screen with Andy riding a skateboard)
Just wait, hboot will find the file, select update when prompted.

Once you have Amon-Ra recovery:
Download this:
Download 651 Rooted Odexed Signed zip
Put on root of your sd card
Boot into Amon-Ra
Wipe system, cache partition and Dalvik cache, data / factory reset
choose flash zip from sdcard
select the rom you just downloaded
Reboot. Sign in and set it up.
Boot to recovery and MAKE A NANDROID!!!!!!:):eek::)
 
RA Recovery booted successfully. Just remembered how much I loved RA Recov. DLing the Rooted stock from Granite1's post.
