Is the Huawei Ascend officially being supported with CM7? i logged on to the IRC channel earlier and was told it wasn't, how do folks running the ascend update the nightly builds or i wanted to try The Newest Stable Build a shot, anyone who knows please get back to me and once again sorry about this repost when i get an answer to this craziness the thread can be deleted, thanks Mods!

ok the OFFICIAL CM7 does not support the ascend.

the cm7 built by isaacj87 does. that is the cm7 you will find in this section of the forum.

isaacs build is about a week behind (according to pip, the cm6 main-man) and mms and video record don't work yet. the ascend was never intended to go past 2.2 Frozen Yogurt so it's proving a pain to get it working perfect but it's still a kick as system.

does that close the thread?
 
isaac is no longer working on CM7 as he sold his ascend n has moved on to other projects. He has made the src code for cm7 avail tho and pip has a howto on compiling it, but compiling isnt for the non-puter savvy ;) or ppl who cant use linux n cmdline.

far as I know Pip still supports cm6 but doesnt have service for his ascend so he cant test for things like mms to fix em.

cwm doesnt officially support either builds for the ascend ;)

pip just told me he also has received NOT 1 BUG REPORT so please send them if you can.

I know the alarm clock does not work with CM6 when the screen is off, but is that worthy of a bug report? Was about to make one but i believe pip already knows. It kind of feels like i'm nitpicking and i don't want to bother him with such a minuscule problem.

works on cm7, just used it yesterday morning lol

there is a setting to keep the screen on but crazy dim with no backlight. it looks like a half blackened sun.

just plug your phone in. if it still turns off go to applications menu, development and check stay awake.

It only screwed me up one morning, i got a regular alarm clock now and all is well, just figured i would mention it in case someone gets CM6 and has a job interview the next day.

I use Alarm Clock Xtreme app, and have no problems witht the alarm not working from a locked screen. Just FYI. Tested it 3 times this evening.
 
Ahh well i do thank you all for the Input on this and once again so sorry for p-osting this up!!! you all have a great night and thanks again for all that great info :)
