Help Image Retention

Yes this screen and oled tech in general (its gotten better since the horrific burn in of the captivate/ fascinate) will not only retain images (reversible for the most part) but will also "burn in".

Silly I know, but change your layout and use different themes if you can. Unfortunately the bottom black nav bar is a problematic portion of the screen. Not so bad until you really purposefully look for it though in a dark room.

There are weaknesses in all screen tech IMO, just one of those tradeoffs.

yes that is retention....completely normal IMO. no need to replace it since i believe all AMOLED screen suffer from this.

it is especially noticable on gray screens though like you just posted. not really noticable on any other colors that i can think of.

While it may be normal for an older phone, this person just got his phone -- it should not be having "burn in" problems yet. For a brand new phone, I would definitely contact Google/Samsung about it.

Those aren't burn-in, its image retention and there is a difference. Burn-in means the images are permanently 'burned' onto the screen. Retention means that a ghost image remains on screen temporarily. Retention is fairly normal for an OLED screen.

In the video the images do fade, so its not permanent. That said, mine doesn't exhibit this severe a case of retention. I tried to duplicate the video with brightness at 100% and I see nothing on the grey Chrome screen. I do see retention from time to time, but it always fades quickly.... and its rare for me to see at all with my brightness set around 30% most times.
