Um, the forum alert doesn't appear in the app, so anyone viewing from there won't know why the site is down.

This is some false information. Look at the listing of the ZTE Zmax Pro. Get real, Lol.. There's no Root, no ROMs, why put that on "Best Devices"? Lmfao!.

Clicking on that link doesn't work in the Android Forums app.
Works fine in Tapatalk.

It does for me ... using the most recent app version (7b).
It suggests using Chrome and asks if I want to do it just once or always. When I chose just once and tap Chrome then displays the page.

I don't want to use Chrome. I want the link to open in the app.
Clicking any link that is from androidforums.com should open or ask to open in Forums for Android. There are probably some URLs that break this so if you provide a link to a URL that does not work I will fix it for the next release.
With testing a bunch of URLs, they all seemed to work for me but I did notice a bug that if the app is open, clicking a URL does not do what is expected. I will fix this bug for the next build.

The only place I've seen that option is on the new posts page. But right now that page is only accessible if you have it bookmarked.
