Help Improve GNEX Performance

Hey polynex, welcome to AF! I moved your thread into the Galaxy Nexus forum, thanks for understanding. :)

I would agree, task killers are going to slow down your Nexus, I would recommend deleting them. I am currently running a Jelly Bean Rom, and the lag is non-existant. It should be rolling out officially OTA very soon, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Jelly Bean is a HUGE improvement performance wise. Stuttering is minimal at worst now. And the new transitions are pretty slick as well.

Task killers are definitely a no no, but one thing that may help is try out a custom launcher. I personally recommend Nova Launcher. Just download it out of Google Play and play with the settings a bit. If nothing else, it allows you to customize your phone a bit more

You could always try rooting if you're open to it, because then you could overclock and/or underclock to save the battery. Of course, if you root, then there's a whole new world of possibilities but you shouldn't do it unless you're fully aware of what you're doing.

The best thing you can do to Android is leave it alone. It is really good at managing its own resources. Do an occasional battery pull to reset everything.

Oh and yeah, just wait until you see Jelly Bean. It's like a whole new phone.

Doesn't sound like there is a proven way to do this, which is cool. I'll hang tight untill JB is released for Sprint users.

Thanks, guys!

It doesn't sound like you want to root but for what it's worth I've unlocked my phone, rooted and am running AOKP ICS and it runs very smooth. AOKP has NOVA launcher installed by default.
