This past weekend I took a trip to Duluth MN to see the tall ships that were on display there. Since I'm not very familiar with Duluth I used the Eris to navigate to the hotel, find restaurants, find gas stations, and to keep up with email along the way. Since there is a lot of carping about the Eris here I thought I would just chime-in with a positive story for a change.
The Eris worked just great for me the entire weekend and it proved to be a really valuable tool. I'm in my 50's and at my age the Eris -- and all smart phones for that matter -- is simply amazing. When I was a kid I could only dream of the things that the Eris does for real today. Even my wife, who is not into technology at all, was impressed by the Eris. It got us where we wanted to go quickly and hassle free.
There are faster and more powerful smart phones out there now but the Eris still brings a lot of value to the table. It would be tough to live without a smart phone after the having Eris for 6 months.
