there is a new report out..
iGR: Samsung Most Preferred Android Smartphone Brand in the US

List the preferred android smartphone OEMs in USA.
Samsung is #1
Moto is 2nd
htc is 3rd...
then comes the rest...

but from all the other reports... in USA..
htc was #1... then Samsung..

how did the orders change so fast?
I can see Samsung and htc battling for 1st.. but to fall to 3rd behind moto?

is this just the starting fallout, because google now owns moto and everyone is expecting to get moto.. as their next phone?

Moto being 2nd is because there putting out top of the line phones. People want sleek looking phones moto does that.

I don't know, it seems really odd to me. (Well besides Samsung being #1, I expected that.) In my book it would go.

1. Samsung
2. HTC
3. Motorola

I'm not quite sure why Motorola is so popular now though. I mean seriously Motoblur is by far the worst, most intrusive UI. I would be more likely to consider an LG device over Motorola. (And that's saying something.)

Moto is popular now, I think, because of VZW. VZW is all about Moto. Yes, they have some HTCs and some Samsungs, but really, you walk into a VZW store and you get hit with a lot of Moto devices. Especially now with the Razr. VZW advertises the hell out of their phones. And usually it's a Moto. The T-Bolt got a bit of advertisement, so did the Charge, but most of the VZW commercials I see feature a Moto phone.

Looks like the US is finally catching on, if Samsung can sort of out the release dates between the US and the rest of thw world they will stay number one.

I never liked Motorola but they do make some good phones. The Motorola Droid razr and Motorola photon are examples. But I owould still expect HTC to be ahead of MOTO. I think HTC is probably the best, but Samsung has the galaxy line which is probably why its first.

Moto has the best build quality. Not to mention the best reception/signal strength. The hardware is comparable to most other devices, and not everyone hates motoblur. It has its uses. As for htc i know a few people with the t-bolt and rezound. The majority of them regret their choices. HTC's have the absolute worst battery life. Unless you purchase an extended battery. Yes motos bootloaders are locked, but they won't be forever and the newer moto devices will be getting ICS soon enough.

I'm going Moto after Samsung, more specifically the Droid RAZR MAXX, when it's released.. Most consumers don't care (and probably understand) rooting so locked bootloader doesn't really mean much to these big manufacturers. I also like the sleek design of the razr, the amazing battery in it (we'll see how that goes) and I'm not all that concerned about Motoblur. If I can do what I need, then I'm fine. I can always throw GoLauncher if I can't get satisfied with the homescreen, like I did with my dated Samsung Fascinate. (Another reason I'm upgrading)

As for HTC, well I'm not surprised. They are heavy as hell, crappy battery life, and I cannot (personally) stand the stock UI, whatever they call it. Of course, that's just my opinion.

i agree with the build part. There just as thin as Samsungs but they feel a hell of alot sturdier

i only have 2 issues with moto...
1. locked bootloader... it has been more difficult for devs to work around moto bootloader
2. motoblur really does suck compared to other UI. I really like Sense. I have heard that google plans to drop motoblur out of moto phones.

I also like how my htc evo.. has minimal bezel on all 4 sides. that is what i want in my next phone..big screen with no buttons and little bezels... and a kickstand

(because phones are getting so big...hope google [not apple] patents the kickstand)

I agree Samsung is 1st, well above Moto / HTC. Personally I have never owned a Moto Droid, didn't care for the locked bootloaders or the pentile screens, but they do make nice phones.

HTC needs to come out with a premium device like the Galaxy S2. My Evo 3D is as thick as a brick, super heavy, and the screen is not as nice as my Epic Touch.

I don't think there is any debate over why Samsung is number 1.

As for #2, people need to remember that the Razr was the most popular phone in the world during the dumbphone era. A lot of people are excited about this new Android rendition.

Samsung/Moto are making strides, HTC isnt. The phones have for the most part looked/stayed the exact same since the Evo.
