Incipio Silicrylic Case

Ever started to drop something, and then in an effort to catch it you end up knocking it to the ground, and it really would've been better off to just let it fall?
I did that this morning with my Thunderbolt. :-(

I was worried the screen broke at first, but it didn't. The screen wasn't damaged at all. Then I figured there would be some major scratches, but no there wasn't.

My case was cracked badly enough that I am going to have to trash it and get a new one. But the phone was not damaged in any way at all, and everything still works perfectly.

I had debated early on whether or not I wanted a case, because to me the TBolt is pretty big, and I didn't want to make it any bigger. But I am definitely glad I did.

So anyway, if you want a good case that will do what a case is supposed to do (take the damage instead of the phone taking the damage) the Incipio Silicrylic is a good one.

It's one of those with the silicone rubber on the inside, and hard rubberized plastic on the outside.

Here is a link if anyone is interested.

Wow i hate it when that happens, glad the case saved your phone. I just got my incipio case for my bionic. Good to know it does what its supposed to

I hate it when threads like this pop up..

Another case ordered and on its way.. :p

Have you had the Seidio case? I am thinking of replacing it and this looks like it may be it. Interested to hear what other cases you have to compare it to.

Yeah, I had the Seidio 2 piece one. Don't remember the name. It was the silicone with the harder skeleton that snapped on over it.

I didn't like the thickness and that the edges by the screen were squared off instead of bevelled so I kept bumping it when typing. The Casemate Pop was much better in that respect, but added too much bulk.

This one says its the thinnest and it looks like the edges over the screen shouldn't be a problem.

I'm anxious to get it and try it out. I have a drawer full of cases that are all nice in some ways, but always had me going back to naked after a while for one reason or another.

Incepio makes great cases that protect the phone very well ans have excellent build quality/finish. they also have a lifetime warranty and excellent customer service.

@offanairplane- just call up their customer service and they will replace your cracked case with a new one free of charge under warranty.

Just got mine today, case is great. I've had my share of cases, and a few silicone/hard case combos. This is my favorite of them all. Thin, looks like great protection, and they threw in a screen protector that looks quality as well.

Can't go wrong IMO..

Hmmm, maybe I need to order one then.

In another thread you talked about a tight fit and needing the squeegee to install, can you elaborate with pics of how this thing installs? Were there instructions on how to install or is it kinda self explanatory? I guess I don't truly understand how this fits, but am interested in a slimmer fitting case as I don't wanna go naked.

Its kinda like the Seidio Active X, in that its 2 pieces, a very thin, very flexible, silicone skin, and a thin, but VERY rigid shell that fits over it. There's very little give in the shell, and its extremely snug.

I tried putting the 2 together and sliding the phone in, but the silicone is too thin and moves around, so you have to put that on first, then fit the shell on over it. Because the shell has almost no give, it moves the inner skin around when you put it on.

With the cutouts for the kickstand, camera, mic's etc when you get the hard shell on, the skin moves around and the only way I could get it into place was using the supplied squeegee that is thin and flexible enough to slide in-between the 2 and move the silicone piece into place. Even after you get the cutouts lined up, you'll be pulling on the shell with your finger and pushing the skin in to get it perfect.

You just have to be gentle and take your time, you can push through the silicone if you're not careful. I'd take some pics but I don't want to take it off and repeat the process.

Its great once its together and you work everything into place, but not a case you can remove and put back on with any frequency.
