Help Inconsistent Notification Light

Has anyone had any issues with the notification light for texts and VMs being inconsistent? My issue is that sometimes it works, and lights up like it should, and other times it doesn't. I understand the screen has to be in sleep mode for it to work, but sometimes I will take the phone out of sleep to check on whatever and I will have a text, but the light never lit up to alert me.

Couldn't tell ya. The light on the Bionic is so tiny that I don't notice it even if it blinks while im looking at the phone.

That notification light was the ONLY good thing about my old Blackberry Storm 2, lol.

I have noticed it flashes when the battery is critical, but I honestly have not seen it flash at any other time. The LED also happens to be in a very inconvenient place on the phone, so there is a slim chance your screen protector, like mine, (ZAGG) is covering it up somewhat. Also, if you have a case installed, that could be covering it up as well.

You can try downloading the app called "Light Flow" from the Market. There is a free version as well as a 1.00 paid version. I installed it and it seems to be working just fine. Try installing it and hopefully it works out for you!

The case and screen protector are definitely not covering it, because I can see it plain as day when it works. I appreciate the suggestion about the app, and will give it a try but hate the fact that we have to rely on apps from the market place to "fix" bugs that Motorola/Verizon should take the initiative on and iron out for us; notification light, camera issues, 3G/4G signal loss (although there is no fix for this yet)

I don't like the fact that you cant change the blink rate on gmail. I have to stare at my phone for 3 seconds just to be sure I don't have an email. and yes I too had several times were the light isnt blinking but I do have a new email.

i have this issue sometimes. I check my phone and there's new text messages waiting for me. Sometimes my phone won't even vibrate when it's suppose to for my text messages and other notifications. Not sure if this is ROM or software related. I just ignore it as I'm always on my phone.

When i first got my Bionic the notification light never went on except right when it was going to sleep.

I found the only solution was to do a factory reset. Then when starting up your phone it will ask if you want to restore previous settings and back up the phone. Make sure to UNCHECK those options upon startup. You can alway turn them back on later.

After doing that the notification light started working, and has continued to for the last 2 months.

Having come from an OG Droid I'm guessing Google backed up some hidden phone settings which when restored on the Bionic messed things up. That's the theory anyway, and this has been the ONLY solution for me.

Now if your notification light does work sporadically .... no idea.

My notification light just blinks green constantly. Fully charged, half dead, text, no text. Always blinking for no reason. I already had to do a factory reset once for other annoying little issues so I really don't want to do another.
