Motorola just released their numbers and they barely sold any smartphones last year...huge losses. Now look at this MOTHER'S DAY SALE - Razr's.

Verizon obviously pushed back the Incredible 4G to promote Razrs until mother's day, and then their advertising will shift, as they continue to roll out their new droid does campaign. We've already seen that the incredible is part of the droid does campaign. They already released commercials with all Moto phones.

Sorry to bring down your little conspiracy theory but I believe my logic is pretty sound.

So, this 17th date makes sense as it is AFTER mother's day. But, apparently on Monday there is supposed to be an announcement at some mobile conference (i don't know the name). So we should find SOMETHING out on Monday.

Or... maybe they'll release the Inc4g FOR Mother's Day? In either case, I'm getting the Inc4g so I'll get it when it comes out.

Regarding Moto, man screw Moto. What was the point of releasing a new phone every 3 months? At one point, one of their phones was delayed so they released a 2 new LTE phones in less than a 2 month span! (think it was the Bionic? I don't exactly remember which POS Moto it was)

And I had the Droid X which I absolutely hated (that Motoblur was just an abomination). When I switched to the Inc2, I loved the the Sense UI (compared to MotoBS, it was significantly better) and the fact that the camera doesn't take ages to load.

My only other Motorola phone was from like 2003 or 2004 and it was a flip phone. Of the 3 flip phones I had before going smart phone (LG, Samsung, Moto), the Moto was the worse. I'm done with Moto..

Maybe I didn't make myself clear? I was rushing and just blurted out a bunch of thoughts.

Anyway, notice now that the HTC Rhyme is also a mother's day sale item. Free with a ton of accessories.

This is how a business works...you have inventory...and you have to clear out the inventory before you put a new item on sale. Or else...nobody buys the old items. Ya dig?

But less than two weeks now woohoo! I honestly can't wait to get this phone. (i'm still on the droid 1! it's torture to use at this point).
 
Posted April 29 2010 after about three strong months and 959 riveting pages of speculation........... Incredible Epilogue (que somber music...something traditional like Highland Cathedral or Amazing Grace...)

All good things must come to an end and so we come to the end of the Official HTC Incredible Thread.

I'm sure i'm not alone when i say that it has been an "incredible" journey filled with valuable information, exclusive leaks, amazing personalities, a plethora of topics, countless CSR/store stories, endless theories/speculation, even newly forged friendships, all culminating in the release of a phone that we will all enjoy and remember as the catalyst for the epic thread.

I want to personally thank the hundreds, if not thousands, of contributors of this thread for the posts and contributions...you're the reason this thread was as "viral" as it was.

Special thanks and admiration goes out to some of our most active and devoted thread participants for their efforts, in no particular order and not intended to leave anyone out, Steven58, Montana Man, Kappy, Nashdroid, woodraskam, Nocturnal Jazz, NKT, kcoan3, CaptJager, etc...AMAZING JOB GUYS/GALS!

None of this would be possible without the ownership and staff of Phandroid/AndroidForums who supported us through trials and tribulations (thread closures, "strong" personalities, watermarking issues, etc...). So lets hear a round of applause ("Thanks!") for Rob (owner), Phases and Shivers316 (admins), twospirits, vido.ardes, and Slug (moderators). Thanks a bunch guys, keep up the great work!!!

As i've said before, this is not the beginning of the end, merely the end of the beginning and the nextsetof exciting challenges lies ahead of us. Here are some of the steps that have already been taken for the next chapter:

1. A new sub-section (TipsandTricks) has been created. I'll post some guidance in that section so we can make the most of it. 2. A new Lounge thread has been created with a similar goal/charter and this thread...enjoy! (i'll see you there) 3. An IRC chat channel has been created if you want more real-time conversation and advice from some of the "regulars". You can use an IRC client or simply navigate your web browser to: freenode Web IRC (qwebirc) and join the channel ##DroidIncredible

We will continue to evaluate the need for other sub-sections (Root, Custom ROMs, etc...) and stickied threads. Also, stay tuned for other site-wide developments...there is some exciting stuff planned!

In closing, thanks again to everyone who has been with us on this thread and helped make it what it is...the next challenge awaits!

^^Just woke up and read this and thought, wth?!?, Dinc4G announced?

Spent 5 minutes looking for announcements and came back to this to realize it was for the original Dinc.

Note to self: Drink coffee before reading forums here.

I am really surprise to hear the end of the OG Dinc thread. The Eris thread is still going (slowly) and that was out before the DInc. I know a couple people at my workplace that still have their OG DInc. It's it really that resource heavy to keep it open?
 
That was just ONE thread that was closed two years ago. It had a three month life and 959 pages. It was AVERAGING 10 PAGES of posts a day. The og dinc forum itself is of course open. This thread, for the dinc 4g will probably close itself. I haven't checked but I don't think this speculation thread is averaging 10 POSTS a day. The powers that be, they had to close that "lumber yard fire" cause it was totally out of control. I just posted it to show us the day we are looking for will arrive.
 
Well guys, I think I'm out. Not out for good from buying this phone, just out and not checking the tread anymore until I get an e-mail from Verizon or see advertisement on TV that it is actually available. Have to stop the madness of checking this thread all the time hoping to see some good news.
 
I damaged my Droid Incredible last summer, accidentally went swimming with it, and used one of my insurance claims.

After $100, they sent me the Droid Incredible 2, which I liked a lot more. Unfortunately the new phone had a bad experience in a party bus for a bachelor party and came away with a cracked screen. The phone is still working great just kinda looks weird but ive gotten used to it.

Anyways, Im thinking of using the second claim this summer after the Droid 2 is gone from inventory and hopefully receive this new Incredible 4g for another $100 without using up my upgrade. We shall see :)

Ehhh I don't buy it, or at least I certainly don't want to. I am thinking of jumping ship to the one x on at&t, I am finally out of contract with verizon.

Edit: after some thought screw that. 4.7 is huge and I love my unlimited data with vzw. I finally got around to holding a 4 inch phone today (Inc 2 and lucid) and man does it fit well in my hand. Much better than my fiancee's 4.3 bionic
 
I swear it's like they're completely trying to destroy everyone's interest in this phone. REALLY? May 31st? Another month?

I think this INC is going to hit a sweet spot for a lot of people. It's been a long time since there has been a legitimate top end phone with a 4 inch screen on just about any carrier. While I like 4.5-4.8 screens personally I have big hands and can see where 4" screens will be optimal for a lot of people. I'm even considering picking up the INC 4G if it has all-day battery life. My Galaxy Nexus battery life is attrocious. I get about 10-11 hours with moderate data / phone use.

You would be hard pressed to consider this a top end phone.

I would like to ask why you say this. Please let us know (or just me if that be the case) what besides the screen is not at least in the highest group of what is available right now? I understand this isn't out yet, but that isn't what I'm asking about. We have specs (loosely) and it is expected soon.

What makes it not high end other than the screen? Processor is hands down better than anything on verizon, ICS out of the box( only nexus has official ICS), most likely better battery life than any other lte device on verizon. So what makes it fall into a category other than high end???? I think you are falling into the media if it doesn't have a super duper hd screen it's not high end hype

Screen, price point, and how much of an upgrade outside of the Processor is it compared to the Rezound?
