I agree, 299 is ridiculous. I would not even consider this a "high end" model. I wonder what the pricing of the Samsung GSIII will be?

$299 Verizon is milking every penny they can

How the hell can they sell it at that? I guess I'll have to wait for a price drop. How very disappointing. The specs aren't even good enough to sell it at that price. It looks as though that page wasn't meant to be put up, so perhaps it won't be sold at that price? It literally makes no sense to sell that phone for more than 199$.

Make that $149, $179 at the most.

Would Amazon sell it cheaper on launch day for new subscribers? :/

$299. Verizon charges that for most high end devices. It's almost not worth it to use an upgrade and just pay an extra 300 for off contract and have the freedom to not be locked into a contract.

Here it is....

Jackpot!!! U the man!!!:D:D:D

I agree that 299 had better be subject to change!!!

I think if it does end up being priced at 299$, then it'll drop pretty quickly when they see no one buys the phone. Or they'll have some promo offer within the first month or so. Ugh...299$.. that's so ridiculous.

+1
I will not pay that for this phone even though it has the S4.
I bet that 4 inch display will look good though.

Five days till the NFL draft and possibly my new two year contract with big red. Depending of course on whether 4g3 is available then.

Yea I'm liking the looks but wondering about 4G myself. 2 years ago when I got the Dink they were saying 4G within a year. 2 years later and still notta!

Guess I could use it in 3G mode?

No 4g in my area either, I live in the sticks...3g mode here too, might further battery life!:D
naturally it would...'ya know.

Well that's disappointing.

For $299, i expect phones that you can say "my phone is better than yours!" not "my phone is equal to your carriers mid level phones.

You can still access the page here to look at it.

DROID DOES

What's interesting is that the Buy Now link send you to the Droid Razr Maxx so hopefully they just used the Droid Razr Maxx page as a template and haven't changed the price? :D

I'll wait. I'm sure if all fifty of us agree to pass for a couple weeks, try would be willing to 'drop it like its hot". I'll be strong. $169. 99 + tax. Most this cat gonna spend on next contract phone.

Ps: while we know the capabilities of the processor, the average consumer won't care. Nor will they care about a 4" screen. When it comes to screen size, size matters. :P

I'm guessing it'll be in that 249-199 price range to start with. Verizon wanted a foil for its upcoming Fighter (4.5"+ screen, 720p), which will probably start off at $299.

No, it's a Verizon website for its licensed-from-Lucas "Droid" family of Android devices :)

Most of them are Moto, though.
well then where is the droid incredible 2 or the droid charge or any other droids? You say most are motorola but it looks like all are motorola? just curious... no biggie.

Don't know the answer to that (except that maybe the Inc2 is not there because it is discontinued, no longer on the Verizon main website either), maybe they didn't make the cut to hang out with the cool kids :p

Not *all* currently available Moto Droids are listed on the Droid Does site... Droid Pro and Droid X2 are missing. I guess maybe Verizon just shows off their higher-end Droids there, whatever the brand?

I have a hard time justifying $300 for this. For $300 it needs to be a kick ass phone, not one that is good but leaves me lacking.
