Ergh May 10th... thats so far away. Hopefully its sooner than that. They are already having product training for it so I dont see why they would wait 2 weeks to release it.

Training usually goes for like a week/ week and a half. It's only two weeks you will make it

I personally think May 10th is a good thing. I've been eligible since January to upgrade, I just haven't been wowed by anything (and been waiting for 2nd gen LTE chips). With Samsung showing th GS3 on the 3rd, I'll know if I want to wait for that, get the INC4G, or even wait for the rumored 5in HTC phone in the fall. My DInc has served me well and don't have any major issues, so I'm good for waiting for a phone with wow factor

The upgrade isn't much of a deal any more. $50 off for the upgrad and a $30 fee to do the upgrade. A $20 discount! Whoop-de-do.

I think in this day and age the upgrade refers to the subsidized price of the phone, not the final measly discount we get that's being cancelled out by a fee.

They give it a name. LOYALTY discount. Then take it away. Where is the loyalty now. To the almighty dollars.

I never said turn off data. Turning off lte and turning off data are 2 completely different things. The phone still functions plenty fine with 3g only. But of course people always will complain about something.
And by your logic since I have a car that can go 100+ mph I should expect to get the same gas mileage doing 100 as when I do 60.

Why buy a 4G phone to use it nearly exclusively on 3G? That makes no sense to me.

It's not exclusively on 3g. Plus you don't need 4g for most normal tasks. But like I said you can say that about anything you buy if you don't use it to the top that it is meant to do which you don't...

Because lte isn't needed for everything. Unless you are streaming videos or downloading large files lte is just killing the battery for nothing.

That makes no sense to me. If 4G is a battery killer then the phone should turn it off until needed. If I can program Tasker to do that then Google and hTC should be able to handle that minor programming chore.

I think that would end up wasting more battery than conserving it? Because then there would have to be an additional automated task manager running in the background

It's not going to be 300$. Would you buy it at 149$? Perhaps even 99$? Because that's price it'll likely end up being.

Hopefully 99, but more likely 149 or 199. The lucid or whatever just came out at 99 and it certainly lacks the capabilities of the inc4g.

On a side note, I just wanted to thank you for pressing the dude on Reddit for more info, we wouldn't have as much info as we do now if it wasn't for you.

Probably not, will hold out this summer, more speculation that Verizon will be releasing some monster phones this summer in Verizon thread.

The lucid was $79.

The Lucid was 79$ as someone said before, and to the average user, has nearly the same specs as the Dinc4G. Most people won't care about the S4 processor because they won't know what it means. 149$ is a lot more reasonable because at 199$ you can get a seemingly higher spec'd phone. I still think it could be priced lower than 149$. And no problem!

Eh it's not too thick. Not as thick as a 3300mAh case would be. That would make the phone more of a brick than the Rezound. Also! If HTC is already selling accessories, I doubt launch is two weeks away. Why would they start selling accessories for it two weeks before it comes out? I still think launch is within the week. We have so many leaks already, it just really makes me doubt that VZW will wait another two weeks when they clearly already have everything set for an announcement. I could be wrong though, I just don't see any reason to wait 2 weeks to announce it. I could be completely wrong though. Who knows what Big Red's tactics are?

WOW!

And for a measly 450mAh extra?!

The 1700mAh stock battery should give really good battery life, and the extended battery will be more than plenty. I don't think this phone needs a huge 3300mAh battery because it has the S4 processor. I do admit, a larger battery could have been nicer. We can always wait for an unofficial extended battery

I bet it will be fine. The DInc2 came with a 1450mAh battery, and I found a 1900mAh replacement on Ebay for like $15. While I doubt it is actually 1900mAh, it is a good enough improvement to justify spending the money. AND it fits under the OEM battery door, so no brick. I bet we'll be able to find something like this for the DInc4G.

But to me that's like buying a Ferrari and using it to ferry the kids back and forth 5 miles to school and to run to the grocery store a mile a way. Why? That's not what you buy that phone for. My home Internet connection is 25 mbps. I could theoretically install software or set up some system to throttle my connection to 3 mbps when I'm not actively using the computer. Why in the world would I do that though?

You're not complaining about battery life on the home internet because it is plugged in. Terrible comparison nice try though. Here's one for you to wrap your head around, I know it may be difficult but why do you need 4g for loading apps or things like that when you will do it maybe an extra sec or two faster which most wouldnt even notice... If it is that big of a deal either go get a maxx or dont buy this phone. The battery isnt going to magically change for you.....
