$299 for not much of an upgrade of Rezound.
You would be hard pressed to consider this a top end phone.

I'm with the Reverend on this one. With the understanding that all of the specs are not confirmed yet and basing it solely on the DroidDoes & other leaks I will present mostly rehashed info from this very thread to challenge the anti-high end philosophy. IMHO here are the *ratings* I would give each spec:
S4 Krait processor (Have you looked at the benchmarks?) Making the argument that it is a low to mid end device because it isn't a 1.5 quad is baffling to me, not to mention it "should" have better battery performance. A super charged 4 cylinder beating a V8 comes to mind. We should look at performance, not size. *HIGH*
4G chip on the board (battery saving and speed) and oh yea, how many other VZ devices have the integrated 4G chip? *HIGH* (Rezound, nope)
High Speed 0 shutter lag camera. No brainer *HIGH* (Rezound - Nuff said)
Sense 4.0 at launch *HIGH* (Rezound is 3.5)
ICS at launch *HIGH* (Rezound is Gingerbread)
NFC *HIGH* (Rezound, nope)
The price thing is far from known at this point and shouldn't deteremine whether the physical device is High end or not anyway. (The DroidDoes leak of $299 went to a Mot & the $249 and subsequent $149 are still unconfirmed).
So it comes down to the qHD vs. HD as the only possible battle. Sure HD would be nice but this isn't a 4.5 or 4.7 screen where you NEED it and at the risk of stereotyping, it appears the majority of Incredible users WANT a small device that is fast & functional with great battery life. We don't stream movies on our phones all day where HD would be a benefit. Instead, we want our batteries to last along time to do all of that fast & functional stuff so qHD actually makes more sense to me (and my backwards logic anyway). Not to mention the qHD is an upgrade for all of us still running the Og Dinc, which from posts since this threads inception reveal... "we're still fine with anyway"
By the way, I didn't quibble over things like Beats audio, or whether or not it comes w/a micro SD card (not to mention has a slot), the back cover and battery are removable etc... above.
Just one guy's opinion and if I'm wrong I hope someone crams it in my face so I don't go pick up what I currently believe will be "one of" the current "HIGHer" end phones available.
I agree. Besides the S4 this phone seems a lot like a dozen other phones that have been available for months. And every day it does not get released just makes it worse.

A better screen (not necessarly bigger), waterproof, dropproof, freezeproof, better front facing camera (not vga), xenon flash, that cool eyeball thing the sgIII supposedly has, an antenna that works in caves, and obviously an outer shell made of amantium (you know, wolverine's claws). Then it would be high end. Oh and of course a retinal scanner and fingerprint reader. What would you like to see that would make it a Higher End phone (besides the screen obviously)?
I feel like I'm missing something. What does the top-o-the-line phone have that separates it from this one?

Laugh now just like ten years ago when people laughed at the idea of a quad core phone, or a phone that can surf the internet. I was a little sarcastic with the adamantium, however all that other stuff exist. The way technology is going these days, I learned that the unexpected can happen. As far as your lear jet goes, I'm sure there is an app for that.Ummm. Pinch yourself. I think you are dreaming sir. Very extreme sarcasm. Oh, and auto start for my Lear jet please. :afraid::bike:
But the real question is....... Do those phones have ICS?I've got news for you...

Dream phone? I thought we were talking about high end phones? My dream phone would consist of a back massager, a teleportation device, it would drive my hovercraft, and it go to work for me. Basically make me money.Well then you're in for a treat in 10 years when your dream phone comes out.
Went to look at the one X. Sweeeet. Phone. AT&T boasts the largest 4g LTE network but no 4g anywhere near where I live. At least I can drive a couple miles and get 4g with verizon. Still no coverage where I live though. Now I just don't know if the jump from 3g to 4g will be as dramatic a change as the lg dare to og incredible was., but if I buy a 4g phone, damnit, I want 4g coverage. I don't want on again off again service.

Basically it confirms all the leaked specs but didn't say anything we don't already know. We need a release date and a price tag!

$149 wouldn't be too bad for this phone.
It should be a solid phone with enough power to make it worth your consideration. Sources of ours have suggested that it will retail for $149 or so and could be available by May 17.
