Sure!! I just got back from my local Verizon store and asked about his phone. They said they have no idea if they are even getting it. He said none of the information on the web is even accurate and that they have no idea if they are even getting it and if they would get it when it would even be. If they do know any information they sure play ignorant very well. So I looked around just to check out the other phones while I was in there. Not one of them even caught my eye. Well I take that back one did.... The Inc 2...

Why wouldnt they get it? Are they implying this phone will never be released? 0.o

Ah ok. Well I'd feel bad for anyone whos waiting for this phone and their store doesnt get it!

It really feels like this phone will never come out. I don't think it'll come out til we hear an official release date on the HTC Evo 4G LTE. The news inflow on this phone has just sort of stopped, and now were all waiting for an announcement a day in advance before the phone will launch. I think if it doesnt launch next week its probably been delayed from Verizons initial launch plan, and we can probably expect it anytime in June.

That's not what I meant. I meant maybe they're holding off until they announce a new policy with regards to grandfathering of unlimited data plans sometime soon.

Maybe I'm wrong, there have been soo many articles about this lately.

The way I understood it....they were already throttling back the 3G customers using too much data, and they were going to eliminate the "grandfathering" of the unlimited data offering, and require you to choose a new data plan when you upgrade to a 4G phone this summer.

I'm not sure what you mean by losing your unlimited data... If you have it now you'll have it always. Using a phone upgrade and renewing a contract for an additional 2 years does just that...upgrades your phone and locks you in for 2 more years.

Verizon is getting rid of unlimited data. Google it.

They already had a date for the EVO4g LTE, but it was missed because of the customs hold. Yesterday they ran a story that people who pre-ordered were getting their phone along with a tpu case and a letter of apology. So I dont think they're going to re-announce it.

I'm banking on the 31st, but as long as it comes out before they implement shared data it'll work. If not I'll upgrade to a Razr Maxx, eBay it, & use the proceeds for a phone to be named later. Basically I'm gonna use my last subsidy to help pay for my next phone out of contract.

My local verizon store has every other phone that is on the verizon website, so I am not sure what you mean by they don't get every phone.

There are a ton of phones offered by Verizon. Not every one goes to every reseller. (This is about authorized resellers not verizon corp stores). Walmart certainly doesn't get every phone. It would shock me if any authorized reseller didn't get inc4g.
 
a friend of mine works for the company and the new release date for the HTC Incredible 4g is June 21, 2012. there have been a few setbacks because the port has issues...not sure what that means though. i've had the 1 and th 2 and can't wait for this one!

I had a feeling something was wrong, no news for 3 weeks since CTIA and they kept hinting coming soon.

I feel bad for the people that can't wait, I can wait, I'd rather them release it perfect then with a flaw on the port. Can you say Father's Day gift for Dad?:D

Another...month.... It looks like this phone is going to be like the Bionic. How many times can they keep delaying this phone? It was finalized months ago, any issues should have been fixed up then.
If this comes out after the shared data plans take effect, im going to die.
Also, there would really be no benefit to them purposedly delaying the phone til after the plans take effect. How much of their customer based do you think already has an upgrade waiting and is just waiting for a new phone? How many of those have unlimited data? And how many of those would willingly give up their unlimited data for one of the new phones coming out?
 
Just perusing the ltevo threads, they basically LOVE it. Our new phone will be equally as nice, and I'm sure I will be able to wait the wait. Hopefully when he says port, he's talking port of Seattle.
 
I think the June 21st release date is a placeholder date. This issue might still be ongoing, and that June 21st date might just be the latest date it'll release, or just thrown in there to have something for the records. Im still trying to be optimistic :p.
 
So I have an OG Dinc and think I am one of those people who can no longer wait for the dinc4g to come out. Every day I wake up and my phone can no longer perform another function. I can no longer get the "phone storage low" thing to go away, which blocks my emails from coming in (as a lawyer, this is very problematic). My visual voice mail no longer downloads messages on its own - I keep getting txts from verizon telling me I have voicemail activity and to reinstall visual voicemail to get my messages (I get this txt even when I just delete a message and don't actually have any new messages). The screen will sometimes freeze and I am unable to type anything. It drops calls more and more frequently. And last night, I did a battery pull and then it couldn't start up again! It would get to where it says "droid" and you see the eye, but then just go back to the htc screen and start over again (so I just hear the phone sayd "droid" every 1-2 minutes). I finaly got to start up this morning, but I think that was the final warning shot.

I've tried to wait for the dinc4g, but I think I am out of time. So, the questions becomes, what phone should I get?

Being that I really like the htc phones, I am thinking about buying a rezound. The specs look good, though I am sure the battery life sucks. And I think 4.3" is going to feel way to big for me, especially coming from the og3.7." But I think the rest of the features might make it worth it. I am not big on the UI for the motorola phones, and regardless, I think the motos are ugly ugly ugly.

But before I go out and pull the trigger on the rezound, I figured this is the place to ask: Any reason why I should avoid the rezound? Any advice would be very much appreciated!

First off, if your Org Inc is not rooted, I would first suggest rooting it and installing a custom ROM. If you don't want to do that, I would suggest a factory reset. Might be a bit of a pain, but it would get you back to factory settings and you can reinstall what you need. All info you need to do this is on the Incredible forum. As for the Rezound. Don't do it! It's a pile of crap. I had it for a week and returned it, my son had the Rezound for 6 months and had to return it 3 times. This last time he said he didn't want another one and Big Red gave him one of the Mot Droids. I think the Bionic?? Do yourself a big favor. Try what I suggested with your Inc and wait it out. Hopefully this 4G will be out soon. Another option would be to pick up an Inc 2 off ebay or craigslist and then just resell it when the Inc 4G comes out. But JMHO!!

Seriously. Factory reset or root (which takes more time and dedication). I vote Factory Reset. You may be surprised how well that works.
I think the bulk and battery life of the Rezound (not to mention the DInc4G is sure to come out right after you pull the trigger on that) will make you sorry.

I am a DInc2 owner and would agree to buy a used one and resell it if you want to use your upgrade on the DInc4G. The DInc2 would give you a feel for the 4" screen before hand as well :)
