Preordered a Blue 16gb S3 last night, read today that you can't move apps to SD card on it, I'm not sure if it's a samsung thing or an ICS thing because it sounds like it could be both. Something to keep in mind if you think you'll need more than 16gb for apps, just in case. Of course I'm still on my original Incredible w/ 149 mb, so 16gb seems huge (although I don't know exactly how much space all my apps take up now on my SD card...).

16GB is A LOT of apps. Like 1000+

That's the problem... You think Verizon owes you something and your entitled to it...:) Verizon can chose to do whatever they want at any time they want. You have the choice to stay with them or not. Your not entitled to anything! If you were they wouldn't be able to do what they are. If you were entitled to it, you wouldn't have to purchase something you didn't want...

This is true. I just wish that it wasn't a case of monkey-see-monkey-do with all the pricing/plan changes among the carriers... well I guess between Big Red and Big Blue.

Don't take me wrong. I think it's BS just like the next guy that they are forcing our unlimited data away from us. But your right, you really aren't going to be any better going to the next guy, because they are all doing the same thing.

Umm...Ok..Let me rephrase - change my original post from 'entitled' to 'eligible' (for a new phone with discount). I have a place on Cape Cod - VZ has best coverage there - others do not, plus most of my friends and family are on VZ too - so switching isn't an option. All I am trying to do is get a new phone with good specs, discounted, and keep my unlimited contract. Hopefully the Droid Inc 4G will come out soon enough to where I can get it since I am a HTC fan. But for all I know I will like the S3 just fine. I have big hands so not worried about the 4.8" screen. Hoping it's win-win either way. But I am tired of waiting for its release. That's all I meant.

Either way it's my phone and my money. :) Cheers!

the argument is getting skewed...this really is not about "unlimited" vs "share everything"...this is plain and simple a money grab on verizons part...

I have 5 phones on my plan and we are by far NOT power users...but to be safe we will need to grab 8-10 gbs of allowance ...and that is going to raise my bill on average $20 per phone per month to keep the same phone habits i have been enjoying with verizon for the past 10+ years.

So on top of what i consider already a huge amount of money that i pay them...they know are grabbing more from me, f them!!:mad:

Just remember, the share plan is not required at all. The only thing that will eventually happen to you is, instead of having any "unlimited" data from the past, each user will get their own allowance of 2GB.
 
My biggest issue with the share plan is the 10GB max. I did the math and it really wont be that much more for me. 4 smatphones now on unlimited, one of them with hotspot. They need to offer higher tiers. All 4 of my phones total last month used 21GB (hotspot included).
 
This is really bugging me. I dont want the S3, I want the Dinc4g. Its the perfect phone for me. And I need my unlimited data because itll save me money and with 4g lte, I'll probably use a ton of data. I cant believe I waited all this long for the phone, just for Verizon to screw me over.

Well I caved, ordered a SGS3 tonight. I did confirm that they are going to stop taking preorders on the 17th. If the Inc4g does by some miracle come out next Thursday, I'll exchange the SGS3 in the 14 day trial period. If it doesn't I'll use my Rezound, sell the SGS3, & buy the Inc4g retail. I guess it also frees me up to look at the Razr HD, but seeing how the Razr Maxx seems to big for me, a larger version probably won't work. I'll probably wait a bit on the Inc4g to check out the reviews on here. That's my plan anyway.
 
T-mobile running a huge promotion for fathers day. All 4g phones free. Too bad they don't have a signal to use them on. I'll do what I have to do to wait verizon out. I'm in a staring contest and I'm not blinking yet. If full retail is what it takes I'll do it. It comes down to about a three hundred dollar difference. Maybe they will offer some sort of pay as we go. You never know.

+1 My thoughts exactly... I will just wait it out. But your right it really comes down to buying the phone out right or not and ya only about a $300 difference. To me that is not a big deal, considering I will keep the phone for most likely a couple years before I buy another one, just like I did my Org Inc.

No... there isn't a cap. It's basically $10 for every 2GB you add - for all the plans. If you need more than 10 GB, you can continue to add 2GB for $10.

I read the verizon document on the shared data and it looked like any return for exchange to a new devise would not be allowed to stay on unlimited.

I think I'd you try SG3 AND don't like it, you can not get Inc 4g and stay on unlimited after June 28.

I may be dead wrong, but some of the wording worries me

I do think they mention a month by month plan as a way to stay unlimited and also you can buy certified pre owned and stay unlimited.

Again, my interpretation... call verizon to be sure

How do you know theyll stop taking preorders on the 17th? And you can just cancel your preorder if it comes out on Thursday. You cant exchange a phone you dont have yet lol. Thats what im going to do, just cancel my preorder. Im just really really hoping it comes out next week because I do want next gen hardware but I dont want such a large screen.

Wow, wouldn't that suck for everybody ordering the SG3 to keep unlimited data thinking they can exchange it for the Inc 4G... Wouldn't surprise me, because if there are people on this forum thinking and doing it, you can bet there are people at Verizon thinking about the exact same thing and trying to cover their bases..!

I do believe this is up in the air. I read the relevant parts, and got the impression that this only applied if the original phone also ended your unlimited plan. But I wouldn't put it past Verizon to do this...

As I said, it was my interpretation. It had to do with the distinction between return and exchange made. Return you could keep. Exchange, it said you could not.

Again, for those ordering sg3 for the ability to exchange, CALL AND FIND OUT FOR SURE
 
It's entertaining/depressing how on this thread and on the one for the Moto Fighter, the news has completely dried up, only to be replaced by variants of "if VZW doesn't release this soon, I'll pull the trigger on an SGS3 to keep unlimited".
