Incredible to Droid X

Hi folks,

I currently have an HTC Incredible. Its been a decent phone overall but it has its share of problems. The biggest one for me is the call quality.

Ive called Verizon and HTC. They both admit there is a problem, but have no ETA for a fix. Both companies seem to be pointing the finger at one another.

Long story short, for those of you who have a Droid X is the call quality really good? I'm looking forward to hear comparisons for those of you who had an Incredible who may have switched to an X as well.

Thanks.

I actually returned my incredible because of how bad it was. The droid x is one of the better phones I have used. the noise cancellation is amazing. I was blasting some music in my car and people can not hear it. Call quality is very good on both ends.

I have never used an Incredible, but the sound quality on my end on the Droid X is very good, and those I've talked to report good quality coming through to them too.

I, too, returned my Dinc for an X because of choppy call quality. The X is better -- period. The battery, based on my usage, isn't any better, however. I get 12-14 hours of moderate use on my X and got about the same on my Dinc... I really miss the Dinc UI, but I don't miss the call quality and the damn bump charging thing.

i think the quality is great. as was said before, the triple mic's are awesome. best noise cancelling phone i have ever used, bar none.

Quality is great, but a ton of post on how quiet it is. Do some research first!

Call quality and volume is not quiet at all, it is very loud through the earpiece. Ringtone, alerts, and media volume is what we say is low but will be fixed in a update soon says motorola. Best phone i have ever had by far.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I really want to get a Droid X, but will have to convince VZW somehow to swap phones out for me. Which I doubt they will do (or at least it won't be easy).

Keep the replies coming but thanks again to everyone who has replied!

I exchanged my Incredible for the X.

I had HORRIBLE reception and volume was insanely bad.

Droid X is awesome. :) Love it.

Only thing I miss is the camera quality, and sense UI (after the Incredible update).

But I can live without that.

I can also attest to the difference in call quality between the X and Inc. Had the Inc and swapped it in part because of that issue. It bothered me every time I had to ask someone else to repeat something... I was so impressed with the first call I made on the X because it sounded like I was on a good landline.

After that I have essentially forgotten about call quality because I no longer have issues.

Take that as you may...

I think the worst part of HTC phones is the dialer and phone quality. They seem to have forgotten that first it needs to operate as a phone and then all the other good stuff.

From my experience so far, I have to agree with you.

I would like to get away from HTC, but I am a little hesitant about the size of the X. I usually carry my phone in my front shirt pocket; would the X fit there?

Wow, I thought I was the only one that complained about the inc call quality!

X all the way!

No way brother not just you!

So another vote for the X huh?

In other news, my wife and I have separate accounts with VZW. I used my NE2 a few months back when I got my Incredible. However her account is eligible for a NE2 and she has been kind enough to say honey you can use my NE2 to get the Droid X if you want it.

So really thinking of getting it. Should I?

Also , I would assume that I have to call VZW to tell them we are swapping phones correct? Especially since we have separate accounts right? Or can I just do a *228 Option 1 to activate the X on my account and the Incredible on hers?

My wife and I too are considering changing to a Droid X. We are both on our third DINCs now and still can't stand the poor call quality. Both HTC and Verizon have acknowledged the problem and promised a fix weeks ago. Still...nothing.

We'll be heading back to VZW this weekend to try the X. Wish the Samsung Fascinate were available. But, no word on when yet and we can't keep waiting to make a freakin' phone call!
