Not sure why it needs those permissions though.

Plasma Lamp requires these permissions:
Network communication
full Internet access, view network state

System tools
prevent phone from sleeping

Internet access to post scores possibly, or download new colors/backgrounds?

And prevent sleeping to make sure the screen doesn't turn off if you're just watching it..

Perhaps. I was hoping the developer would speak up. Thought it might give an insight as to why some of these permissions are necessary. I'm sure there is a perfectly good reason for them and would love to understand.

Well I just tried it on my Mesmerize (same as Fascinate, just on US Cellular) and it popped up a warning that I have an outdated firmware and it might not run properly. I am running Android 2.1 (2.1-update1), with Froyo supposed to be released OTA before 2011. I don't see how it's outdated.

Anyway, I still say this would be a sweet live wallpaper!
 
Its a pretty fun game.

Needs some options in it like for volume control (unless it is there but well hidden)

I'm also not sure if its my phone slowing down or it is supposed to go into slow motion mode every once in a while.

Quite addictive in trying to break your high score. I've managed 132 so far
 
Saving your level would be nice also. Starting over all the time gets a little old......unless I just suck and can't get past a certain level ;)
