Root [info] Kernel

I just wanted to share a couple things. Why is everyone so bent on a oc of 1ghz. Most people won't realize the 200mhz difference as its minimial. They only time there would be a real difference is in gaming n yet again you won't notice.

My samsung epic was over clockable to 1.3 ghz but 1.2ghz stable. I never notice any real difference in performance. Phone was a little snapper under certain conditions.

We then got ext4 suppert. I notice a real improvement after this. Running at 1ghz n ext4 felt like 1.3ghz. The phone was nice n snappy.

It got to the point that battery was more important then speed. I then under clocked to 800mhz and kept ext4. This is were I feel in love. It was faster then stock n provided great battery life. It ran all my apps n games just as it did running my phone at 1.2-1.3ghz.

To end this if anything you guys should be pushing for ext4 support instead of a 1ghz over clock. It is possiable to add ext4 on a re-pack. The changes need to be made to inframents. To oc you need build from source. As shabby stated many times no one has managed to compile a kernel from source n have it boot. Even unforgins kernel fire cwm is a re-pack.

So be paitent n stop crying about 1ghz. Good things come to those who wait. You pressure us ( the devs ) to much we will leave. I've seen this happen to many devs on other phones that I haved own.

Yea are so right about battery being more important than speed I have the esteem and I'm able to go to 2ghz but never go pass 1.5ghz why cause as you said you never really notice a difference.. I go to 1.6ghz-18ghz only when playing games.. and no one like to be pressure

Mystery you are right right now my admire runs really smooth i imagine with a cusrom rom would be flying

As any tried to flash it yet n was able to boot? I have the test kernel dled I just need to flash n see if it boots pm so we can chat privately cause now the public is gonna want the test kernel lol

you won't feel no difference because the UI is handled by our graphics processing unit (GPU). the only way to see difference is by trying a high resource game which is the only reason why i want an OC Kernel.

except there is nothign different. the test kernel was just a HUZZAH it works!!! which itself is amazing because the prevail/replenish/precedant all have kernel source that fails to boot. so the simple fact that it compiles here is a damn miracle...

also you guys dont have gpu acceleration. the msm 7227 doesnt have a gpu :/

Honestly, when I was working on my stock kernel, I didn't expect a boot either. I'm working with a friend to get it OC'd. But I really want to see Ext4 Support. Because even not being OC'd with Ext4 support would probably be a lot faster :D
