Infuse or inspire.

For all your INSPIRE haters, Wal-Mart will be selling the new 4G INFUSE from AT&T beginning on May 15, Price $178.88.

The INFUSE already has HSUPA+ enabled. Looks to be a pretty nice phone.

  • BRILLIANT DISPLAY: 4.5” 480x800 Super AMOLED™ Plus display
  • ULTRA-THIN DESIGN
  • ANDROID™ 2.2 OS: access to thousands of apps and built-in
    ADOBE

The single most appealing aspect of this phone is the 4.5" display.

I spend a lot of time working on my smartphone, much of that is on the web, therefore the largest possible screen would be very nice to have.

That said I'm looking forward to seeing what the Wi-Fi 5.0 is like.

the AT&T store will probably have them the same time they're launched at Wal-Mart on the 15th. I *AM* curious, I might go check it out.

Not much pre-sales information available at this point.

I kinda want the infuse but I need to play with it first. And it just confuses me that the newest phones are being released with 2.2

I Have 2.3.3. on my Nexus S, but you're right all the others with the exception of the Galaxy S2, come with 2.2 Froyo.

It would certainly be nice to watch Google Flex their muscles and insist that everything going forward from now come with the latest version of Android.

I also say that the only thing that appeals to me is the 4.5" screen. Thinness/thickness of a phone isn't important for me. Based off the spec's that ive read it looks like a great phone.

I know samsung isn't great on updates. And i'm personally am not a fan of touchwiz. It looks like a great phone. I would consider this phone if i was going to be purchasing a new one.

Personal preference would likely lead me to the Inspire though like it already has :p

Looks like a really nice phone, but I've reluctantly decided I can't acquire EVERY new, cool phone that comes out. This one gets scratched from my "possible" list - for one big reason, which I'll keep to myself - but I hope it's a hit anyway. :)

of the three "4g" phones at&t announced it was gonna release at CES at the beginning of the year the Infuse appealed to me the most. but i chose the Inspire instead because they said this phone would be coming out later.
but if this phone had come out a bit earlier i definitely would've picked this over the Inspire. it's almost similar to the SGSII with some lowered specs (but a MASSIVE screen)... :P

I have zero confidence in Samsung + AT&T's ability to deliver software updates in a timely manner.

I predict that Samsung Infuse 4G will have crippled HSPA+ out of the gate (like all the other so called 4G phones from AT&T) and the patch won't be available until 2012. Also, you won't see Gingerbread update until 2013. LOL!

Oh, and the TouchWiz. God, I hate TouchWiz...

I'll be sticking with the Inspire. Partly because of the manufacturer. The Infuse is basically a Captivate on steroids, and the Captivate had a lot of issues. We all know Samsung's reputation for software updates and fixes. I like HTC. Maybe I'd be more interested in the Infuse if I could find how much RAM it has. It seems to be excluded from every spec list I've seen on it. If it doesn't have more than 512, I'd definitely pass on it.
