Root Infuse root question

I recently rooted my infuse, and I
was reading in another forum that rooted phones can't get OTA updates. Is this true? And if so, I know you can unroot I just can't find directions to do it for the infuse. Is it a pain to do? Should I just try to upgrade to gingerbread through root or should I unroot and wait for the gingerbread update. I just read that either Verizon or some other carrier is getting the infuse with 2.3 gingerbread so most likely they will update the at&t one soon. Also I can't find good directions to upgrade my infuse to 2.3 through root if anyone could help. Thanks in advance.
 
Can rooted phones get regular updates or will I be able to download it whenever its available? Sorry to be a pain just trying to figure out if I will have to unroot.
 
Well, I'm a novice with Androids -- just a month old. However, after I had rooted my phone, I did receive that OTA update that AT& sent out. I forget what it was, but there was no problem in getting the update.
