Okay, I've seen people change the metro splash to the red lg one and PlayfulGod changed the metro one to the tron android. Does anyone have instructions on how to change this? I read like 80 threads on XDA on how to do it, but some say like mtd5 use mtd2 and all that. I really wanna know. BADLY xD

----Thanks If you even look at this thread or even respond :D it is much appreciated ^_^----

You need to decompile boot.img, then replace initlogo rle with the desired file.
Then simply compile boot.img and you are done. Hope this helps

I know, I was just confused with which was the the splash screen but I did it. And damn, why are all the legends coming back? Lol

wait so you were actually successful in changing it?!?!?!?!? ive been wanting to know how to do that forever!

I wouldnt actually call it compiling it but yea basically correct lol.

You can google initligo.rle to find a tut on how to create them and you will need a lunix enviroment from all the ones I've seen. I follow the one from androidtablets to create mine. I use photoshop to create/edit/size the image I want to use and use gimp to convert the .png to a .raw. Or you can, if using linux, use a script that will do all the converting for you.

now far as extracting the boot.img and repacking it you can use Android (HTC) kitchen by dsixia and can find it on XDA and/or github.

My attempt trying the initlogo.rle mod was a failure. Lol I couldnt find the option to repackaged boot img in the kitchen so I had to use a script I found to do it. But once I repackaged and replaced the boot.img in my rom and flashed it,my phone went into fastboot mode. Had to nandroid to fix.

Any idea why it failed?

Just a random question but. Do you really need a linux environment? Like theres no program on windows that does this all?

Its almost just like Linux. But a little bit more complicated lol. Ill soon learn to actually do it and then ill will probably start doing it for other people. Or better yet write a read me guide

I think their is plug-ins somewhere on xda forums for the kitchen.
I do mine like this. Open kitchen press 0 this should take you to advance options then press 20 should extract and package the boot.img
