Root insert coin 2.0.1

yesterday I flashed stock hboot and then restored my GV 1.7
Then wiped and flashed insertcoin 2.0.0 A2SD, but it stopped at splash screen for >25min. tried with insertcoin lite version too..same problem
my ext4 is 512mb.

Try ext2 512mb n swap 0. That worked for 2 people I helped download insertcoin 2.0.0

ya may be that swap thing is the reason. thanks.
then If i want to comeback to GV/miui, do I need to change/ignore swap

The InsertCoin dev is not an asshole - he has developed a great series of ROMs for his own use and chooses to share them with the community. He doesn't have the time or inclination to support users who don't do a bit of research first. To that end, some of us have created a very packed Wiki http://insertcoin.baadnwz.eu to help find the answers to your questions. We support the Wiki and the forums to help those who are new and scared (like I was a few months ago). However, given the time we put in to the wiki and to earlier answers to the same questions - we do tend to ignore questions from users who clearly couldn't be bothered to do a bit of work for themselves in reading the information posted. If you read the forum, you'll find that questions that haven't been asked and answered before are always met with helpful responses.

Don't be scared - be responsible.

If your using 2.0.1 you need to have the following partition layout...

FAT - EXT4 1GB - EXT4 300MB - SWAP 100MB

If its not done right it wont work properly :)

I can pull a dozen posts that say things along the lines of: "Seems only you have a problem; if you don't like my rom, don't use it!"

Dude has issues.
