Install Any App on Kindle Fire

If you download Opera, they have a real apps store[not just google links], no sign up, no questions asked, just click to download.

I don't think anyone has mentioned the 1Mobile app store in this thread. That's another good source for apps not found in the Amazon App Store.

Does anyone know if this methods to download apps from the pc or directly from the device applys to the new Kindle Fire HD, or just to the old version?

And one more thing. Can this method be used for e-books (.mobi) that i download in my pc?

you can use this for any phone and tablet. and you can use the site from your pc to put onto your device. for the e-books alot of the books ive seen on 4shared are all pdf, but you can convert them to .mobi using this site Convert Files - Free PDF to MOBI converter. Free online document converter. if you dont have a program.

Thanks for the information ;)
And if you are also interested in e-books, Mobilism • Index page is a good website that i found for downloading them. You can download e-books in .mobi or .epub format

I'm stuck on what book to read next. I've wanted to read Star Wars books, but not sure where to start. Finished Ian Fleming James Bond books a few months ago. I could read the other ones the other authors wrote. Also I use the Kindle app for some formats, and Aldiko Plus for epub and pdf formats.

One more question: Does any app i download, on 4shared for example, work on kindle fire? In other words, does any apk file i download work on any device? Or do i have to download the ones that say "kindle edition"?

Theres some that wont work but for the most part they will. Just gotta test them out and see what works and what doesnt. Ive downloaded a game and it didnt work, but i downloaded the same game from another person on there and it worked.

I have a problem though. i'm trying to update the minecraft pocket edition i downloaded and it keeps saying application not installed

Are you trying to update a version you bought from amazon's app store?

I might sugest trying the 1mobile market place app, before I rooted that served me very well in finding updates that amazon had not yet gotten around to supplying

If you have another Android device and want to use the same apps on the Kindle Fire you can use ES File Explorer and create a backup of the app on your other Android device. Then you can just move that backup .apk to your Kindle and use ES File Explorer on Kindle to "load" your app by tapping the .apk file. Your Kindle Fire settings need to be changed to allow installation of apps from other sources - it is in the settings menu. As long as the app does not use a feature the Kindle Fire does not have, such as a microphone, GPS, etc., it should load and run fine. You don't have to root your KF to do this.

Thanks!!!

It took me a couple minuets to do it this way but great I had app on my phone backed it up and used my computer to put it on my Kindle and it works great!!!!

PS I did back another app on kindle to see were to put the file on Kindke.

Thanks again

Tom
