Root Install Samsung Galaxy S Live Wallpapers on your Droid X!

I'll inaugurate this new subforum!

Here's a little guide on how to get Galaxy S live wallpapers on your phone.

Download this file, and unzip its contents onto your sdcard:

GalaxySLWP.zip

Now, open up your adb shell or terminal emulator:

su
mount -o rw,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
cp /sdcard/libmnglw-0.8.2.so /system/lib
mount -o ro,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system

That will push the required library file to your system

Then, you can just use 'Files' or 'ASTRO' to navigate to /sdcard/ and install the 4 live wallpapers. Enjoy!

The dandelion one is messed up, since our screen is 54 pixels taller than the Galaxy S. I find the Blue Sea one awesome though, and the Ocean waves looks really cool, but does a number on the GPU :(

The Galaxy S has the X beat pretty handily in that category, I'm afraid.
 
is that clock/weather beautiful widgets? if so how do you get the clock to look like that? mines jsut a regular clock not sure which skin that is. thanks!

It's the airportone skin and ANDRODena weather pack.

its through beautiful widgets apps, you don't go through the market, you press download skins in BW
 
Thanks so much for all your posts and help. I followed all the directions and got all the wallpapers to install, but the "Ocean Waves" looks very distorted and nothing is moving. It is almost as the background is stretched vertically on the screen. I did try to uninstall and reboot then reinstall, but I came up with the same distortion. Any ideas??

Same here... sucks. This was the only paper I was looking forward to.
 
You guys pushed the .so file over, right?

Also, this was taken from a 2.1 Galaxy, so it may not work on 2.2...
 
Yeah, pushed the .so file via ADB. I'm thinking it may be a 2.2 issue as well. The other wallpapers work just fine, just not the one I wanted... le sigh. :(

BTW, congrats on Mod! I've seen/read/learned from many of your posts from my days @ PPCGeeks back with the TouchPro...
 
I can verify that the only one that doesn't work is the Ocean Waves LW, which just happens to be the one I was looking for.
 
The ocean wave isn't working for me either. Im on the official DX 2.2 rooted. I tried the the one in the zip and the one from WJD too.
 
Ocean waves not working for me either. It was working on my Droid x 2.1 but stopped working with the official 2.2 update. Hoping someone fixes it cause it was my favorite wallpaper :(
 
anyone think that the wallpapers will work now since the Fascinate is getting froyo? Can anyone dump the live wall papers?
