Help Installabale files missing from phone (.apk)

Hello All,

I recently got a Samsung Galaxy S2 (India version). Everything is setup really good, but, this issue i'm facing seems to be bothering me for sometime and could not find any solution to it.

I had a few APK files as a backup on my SD Card from my old phone (HTC Wildfire), which i copied the full set of folders on to my new S2. Files and folders did show up fine when i copied using Samsung Kies (i believe, this is the only way to access the SD card (though it has an option, but does not come with it) - Explorer view). After copying the files, i disconnected the USB cable and also verified that all folders and files did exist. I started installing applications from this folder and it installed without any hassles. This is where i am clueless... i also uninstall them only to notice the .apk file too gets deleted from the folder. I also checked the "Show hidden files". I also tried installing another file manager to see if i can reproduce the issue, but, its the same, files go missing. The folders remain intact somehow.

Can you please help me with the other issue? Also i see that the battery on my new S2 gets depleted faster... i keep charging every single day... any fix for that, please let me know?

Thank you,
Harish

That's not right. Uninstalling from Settings/Applications/Manage Applications shouldn't affect the original files.

Battery life depends very much on how each person uses their device. These topics might be of interest:

Battery dies in 10 hours?
Battery draining 1% every 20mins in idle mode?
