Root Installation aborted on rooting

Hi, a few days ago I installed your awesome universal root and I was finally able to root my new samsung Y (actually I sent you a message to thank you, I hope you received it). I had a biiiiiig problem, though. After rooting the phone, I installed titanium backup and made an update.zip to backup my apps and system, just in case I ever needed it. I deleted a lot of unwanted apps (mostly games and demos, but I also deleted the 'default' launcher cause I love "go launcher" and I had deleted it to previous phones without any problems in the past, so I went straight to that); the phone was working just fine. In the Titanium backup app, I saw an option for moving "all" user apps to SD and I did. Still everything was working fine. Then I noticed that the icons of the apps I had deleted were still in the drawers, so I figured that the only thing I needed was to reboot to have everything working as it should. That's when things went WRONG!!! After I rebooted the phone turned on "normally" but then it never started!!! The Samsung sign was on the screen for about 10 minutes! I panicked!!!! Then I thought "O.K, I am going to re-start in recovery mode and install my backup". I did, and it did enter, but when I tried to restore from backup. THE SAME FRIKN' ERROR 7 APPEARED!! (The error that was not letting me root with the files I had downloaded from the net before finding yours....). I tried several times.... NOTHING.... I was sweating and feeling awful. So I figured that if I restored store settings everything would turn out fine; so I did. BUT IT WAS WORSE! Because after the android greeting, the screen went black, it said that it didn't find the installation wizard!
I gave up, feeling like a dumb ass, hoping that in the store they wouldn't notice that I had messed up the phone myself. The next day I went and I told them that I just couldn't turn it on (the phone is new, I don't even have a week with it and it was going to be a gift for my boyfriend).

So my question is: What did I do wrong?
Why did the phone go crazy after rebooting?
What should I have done?

Now, I suppose that what they will do in the store is just reload the original software. And I am planning on rooting and restoring settings from the titanium backup I had made.

But what should I do to make sure that I WON'T have this problem again???

Please give me your opinion, I know you are a pretty savvy guy.

(Sorry for giving so much detail, I hope I din't bore you too much)

Also having problem rooting s5363, still getting installation aborted, AND having problems connecting to KIES. What a faff, I'm seriously running low on memory and can't move certain apps to SD card, and with constant updating it's becoming a right hassle. Any ideas?
 
as u guessed from my username my phone is a samsung galaxy ace S5830D could u edit the line cause i cant figure out how to do it myself :( but i keep getting the same problem as all u other ppl and getting frusterated cause i want my phone rooted SOOOOO BAAAAD:D

I have Samsung Galaxy GT-S5570 ( POP ). I get the same error ( E: Error in tmp/sideload/package.zip Installation aborted ). What should I do?
 
how did you manage to edit the script ? i also have samsung galaxy Y GT-s5363.....cant/unable to root it ???? installation aborted

1.Download & Copy the file to SD card
2.Reboot to recovery
3.Apply update from SD card and select the copied file
4.Install
5.Reboot

.....sorry...dont seem fair...its the same link which you do surveys and it asks for ur mobile number....wish someone out there knew how to help with a proper link without any gains...oh well...beggars cant be choosers.. :(

I have found the updater scrip but dont know how to edit in ? what program to use when editing the txt? will notepad open it but then i wouldnt know how to zip it back again. :( ..

anyone any help...rest all the links to universal gb root unroot link have totally failed with all surveys etc...fed up..pls help...

...I don see a direct link mate...i clicked on regular download and you gotta pay for it or go through all surveys...
 
Hi All...

I altered the update.zip file but was not able to zip it back again and i gave up but finally managed to find the file :

universal gb root v9.zip

: without visiting those sites with all surversy and spam and spywares. I managed to root my Samsung Galaxy GT-S5363...thanks you all for your support.

I've tried rooting my Samsung Y GT-S5369 multiple times with a number of root files with no success. I keep getting the same error which the OP got. I tried editing the code and adding in my phone's model but still no success. Either I'm doing it wrong or am just going about it the wrong way. If someone could upload a root file for me that would be awesome. I've tried various universal files as well and they won't work either. Been at this for a month now.

Help wold be greatly appreciated.

I updated my phone's OS, and now I have lost root. The update file I use no longer works... it errors out. Here are the phone's specs:
Model: GT-S5360L
Android Version: 2.3.6
Baseband version: S5360LUHMC1
Kernel version
2.6.35.7
Wed Mar 13 18:36.46 KST 2013

Build number: GINGERBREAD.UHMC1

This seems to be a new problem, because none of the rooting scripts are working.

I have same problem i use s5360 but this update zip is still not working with mines please help me im trying to roor my phone for a week i have got help from many forum but no help yet hope you can help please
 
hey guys.. can you please help me. i have samsung galaxy mini.. a few days a ago i was formatted it using master hard reset. by combining home and power bottons..now im trying to reboot it again but it was stuck on samsung logo... can anybody help me to reboot my phone.? ty
