Help Installed night fliter app and lost brightness control

so i installed twilight, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.urbandroid.lux

and it was ok.. i'm really looking for something that my old motorola triumph did which was SCREEN all the colors to red rather than just overlaying a shitty red color over everything..

but this morning i noticed i lost the ability to control brightness from the quick control bar.. (yet i can still set brightness within the control panel)

even with twilight disabled this continued, so i uninstalled it.. and still.. the quickbar brightness control has no effect..

anyone have an idea how i can get control back? or even a better way to control brightness?

omg.. so i discovered that the quickbar brightness thing is "working" but when i toggle between the brightness settings it doesnt go into effect unless i hit the power button to turn of the screen and back on again..

dammit.

I had the same problem. Used Twilight on my HTC One V with no problems. When I installed it on my f3, I had the same results as you. I had to end up unistalling, clearing all my apps cache, and do a restart. Only than did the brightness control work again. I have since downloaded "EasyEyes" and that seems to work for LG a lot better.

This just happened to me: Twilight screwed up my brightness settings, so the toggle in Quick Settings no longer worked. Clearing all the apps' caches didn't help.

I figured out that the problem was that Twilight somehow set the brightness to "auto," but this phone doesn't have an automatic brightness mode, so there's no place in Settings to turn it off! I was able to return things to normal by downloading a simple little app called Brightness Level, which un-set the auto-brightness setting when I clicked on one of its presets.

Oh... and after trying many screen-darkening apps, I settled on the aptly-named Dimmer. It's extremely simple (one tap for on/off), it's free, and it allows you to apply a color of your choice to the dimming overlay.
