Root Installed ROM, rebooted twice, now app links are broken

ROM - CM 7.2 MiRaGe 09302012 build
I was following Mrg666's thread. Everything was fine but after restarting a few times many program links were still displayed but the icon was now the green android. Nothing happens when they are pressed on. I thought it may have been an issue with Link2SD since most all my programs are "linked -> SD Card BUT Play Store app was left on internal storage. Play Store is also now a icon of the green android so not sure that it is a problem with Link2SD.

This is my first ROM install so I have no idea what going on. Can someone throw me a bone! :D

Just how many apps do you have installed on Link2SD? Are you using a task killer? Where did you put the Link2SD app? What ext. is your Link2SD partition and whats it's size?

Have you tried waiting and installing the apps after rebooting the new ROM a couple of times. Did you install the apps from Titanium backup, or fresh apps from the Market?

About 25 apps installed on the phone, all installed from Google Play Market. All apps except Play Market and Google Drive were linked to SD (Play Market and Drive icons are displayed but have the android icon). I don't think I'm using a task killer. Link2SD was installed to the internal memory (shows it's installed to /data/app/com.buak.link2sd-1.apk). The 2nd partition is 1gb (SD card is 2gb) and was formatted to fat32.

I have not tried reinstalling the apps. That wouldn't be a problem but I can't access Play Market to reinstall them. I formatted everything prior to booting the ROM for the first time, per the instructions I was following, so the apps were all installed fresh from the Market.

The size of the SD card is the problem. You can't partition more than 20% of you SD card.

If you want Link2SD or any ROM that has similar capabilities built in to work you will need at least an 8GB SD card.

When buying an SD card the read speed is the most important thing to look for. The higher the read speed the faster the contents of the SD card are made available on reboot and the faster the are accessed when needed when selecting an app which is in either partition.

Class designation only applies to the write speed, not the quality.

To my knowledge and testing the Sandisk class 4 micro SD card has the fastest read speeds of any card out there. I ended up buying a Sandisk class 4 16GB micro SD card because of my space requirements. I got 40MB/s with the card somewhat empty and 35MB/s almost full.

There are many SD cards out there, try to avoid buying a cheap one. They have a tendency to have poor quality, and fib way to much on the space.

I have a 4GB with a 512MB sd-ext partition and it works fine.

Really? Seems strange that a Sandisk class 4 would have a faster read speed than, say, their class 10.

Class is just for write speed (very important for video capture). The manufactures don't seem to care about read speed.

The Sandisk class 4 has 40MB/s read speed, almost twice what the cheap ones have. Half again as much as the other competitors.

Don't know why the industry doesn't care about the read speed, but they don't.
