Root Installing Chrome/Face unlock for PA

The thread at xda is too crazy for me to add more there.

Installed PA last night and chrome wasn't in the gapps zip. My titanium backup won't install it, it just hangs. Same with face unlock, though the apk is present in the "optional" folder of gapps. When I try to install the apk, the installer says "App not installed". What next? I considered downloading a different gapps file to try any apk files there, not sure if that's the best option

I installed PA last night also. I just downloaded Chome from Google Play, signed in on the app, and everything was back to normal. Then I deleted the other browser.

Ok got it now, remnants of the failed install kept me from downloading it there and simply uninstalling from titanium backup didn't seem to work. I don't even know what made it show up ultimately.

Any ideas on the face unlock?

Face unlock is already there. Go to Settings-> Security-> Screen Lock-> Face unlock.

Yeah I don't have it and titanium backup isn't able to restore what I had. I found this post in the xda thread that says to copy the files from gapps but I don't know to where or what permissions

Is there a specific way to enable the optional apps to flash from recovery? I reflashed gapps and I didn't come across anything about optional content edit: no, the optional stuff is in the update-script. I might just wipe and try again

I have no idea, I haven't even looked at what apps are in the optional portion.

I just reflashed the rom and it's fine, thanks for the help! The "optional" folder contains face unlock and the new panorama sphere, but it's not optional per se--it runs with the rest of gapps.
