Hey Gus this might be a stupid question but i loved the stock weather widget an the memo pad to.i looked on the market for the accuweather widget that comes stock and it is not there. So i tried to pull the apk from the deodexed pack that was posted here and attempted to install it. None of them installed properly. Its there any way to get those widgets to ginger steem or should i just give up

Just move the deodexed app to system/app. I did it with weather widget and is working right.

+1 i just did it & it works like a charm. there is a good app called Palmary Weather, free app & is pretty good. but i'm partial to the stock one.

The only thing I miss is a notification tone that didnt make it into Gingersteem. Sucks having to search for tones, there are millions of them lol.

Im not sure what the name of it was I just know I didnt have it after flashing Gingersteem. I know it would be alot easier to find if I knew the name lol.

I did the same as you guys... but it didn't work??.. do I need the weather.apk? If so how can I get that deodexed? Every ROM i've looked at doesn't have it.

Bought the esteem for my wife and put on this custom rom and then found it does not have memo my wife was upset she loved it on the optimus. been looking around for it this was a huge help.

I must be missing something, I have worked with roms and android for a while now but this memo apk is not showing up as a widget or in the launcher
Here is what I have done pulled it from the download put it on sd card used root explorer on the phone to browse to the sd copied it to the /system/app, after toggling r/w of course.
when I reboot and long press the screen and go to widgets memo is not listed, when I open the launcher and look at the apps memo is not listed.
when I open root explorer and go to /system/app its sitting there.

it did say application not installed, however I didnt reboot.
So install while in /system/app or take it out of /system app?

Try putting it in the data/app folder and installing it if its not working in the system/app folder. May require a reboot.
