If i was to install a kernel without installing setcpu, would i get better better battery life then the stock kernels?

Root Installing Kernel without setcpu? Can it be ok?

i think that the difference will be slight, but it should help. but there are so many variables that it is hard to say. setcpu is a great app that can allow you to get the most out of the custom kernel. for one you can set it to scale the cpu lower so that when it is not in use the speed is very slow and thus saves battery. also you can set governors which allows tells the cpu how fast to crank up the speed to the desired setting or how fast to slow it down as well. you can also set screen off profiles so that the battery is not being wasted when the screen is off. all of this can help with battery life.
i think that you really should get setcpu, especially if you really want better battery life. if you have questions about it, please feel free to ask.

ya. your definatly gonna want to get setcpu. It is worth the money and will make your battery life better if you know how to use it

You can download it from xda, there is a link in the roms and kernels sticky here. But, if you decide to keep using it you should pay for it and support the devs.
