Hi

Can anyone explain to me how I install the 'radio.img' file please?

On the website it says the following 'to be flashed via fastboot "fastboot flash radio /radio.img"'

I've no idea what Fastboot is.

Please help me lol

[GUIDE] How to Flash a Radio.IMG Win/Mac - xda-developers

That's the link you need. Make sure you read it, read it again and watch the video (It's boring, but it shows you exactly what's required). Also make sure your phone is fully charged before doing anything.

It's very easy. but a bad radio flash can brick your device, so make sure you know what you're doing before you start!

Thanks for your help.....again El Presidente :)

No probs :)

Use the radio from the LeeDroid post, not the one linked in the thread I just posted. Check the MD5 before you start too.

Is it worth the risk flashing a new radio for the new leedroid? I've stuck with the standard one but if the improvement is massive I might just attempt and flash a new one!

I can't say I recall noticing much of a difference, but there's certainly no harm in having the recommended radio. Experience differs though, for some people the results might be radically different than others.

The procedure itself is really easy, downgrading was much harder. If you go for it, just make sure you've all the pre-requisites before you do it.

Will do! thanks :)

I noticed a big difference, I no longer received bootloops, my battery lasts longer, my phone WiFi has a wider range, and the performance is much better :)

No, there's a separate tool for it, made by the same guy. He mentions + links to it in the thread you downloaded the easy radio tool from.

You can check the MD5 with this. Instructions are in the file that's downloaded.

The correct value is underneath the radio download in the LeeDroids post and it's for the radio.img file, not the zip file.

Yeah, only 9 steps, it shouldn't take long from start to finish, watch the video to give you an idea.

getting the md5sums do NOT match, and i downloaded the radio file from the link on the leedroid post!

what do i do to sort this out!?

EDIT: sorted it, i was checking the zip not the img xD

Are you checking the radio.img file within the zip or the zip itself?

If it's the former, download again. I just checked and they matched up.

Copy 2dc4cfc01516d71c8d68ac2c5e2feda0 to the clip board, open the program, select radio.img and you should be set.

done it :) flashed the new radio too! absolutely amazingly easy with the video! thanks for your help again :) will test battery life tonight!

If I decide sometime down the road to change the Rom to a different one. Will I need to do anything with the radio flashed on my DHD?

In other words, will I need to flash a new radio that is supplied with the other different roms?

Thanks
