Installing the OTA 2.1 file

Yes, this is the 2.1 OTA. The file URL is direct from a log file grabbed from someone who got the official OTA 2.1 from Verizon. This is really it. The same thing happened when the Motodroid got updated and it was the same process. Rename to update.zip, etc. etc.

That depends if you have the option in Windows to "Hide file extensions for known file types" turned on.

If you can't see your file extensions, just name it update. If you do see your extensions, just make sure it's update.zip.

Ok...so just delete the .zip, and make the file just update, drop the file into the SD card, hit the +down button and power.....then hit home after it reboots?
 
I wrote HTC asking bout the ota cause I'm on leak v3 they wrote bac? saying there not sure if were be able to get it and they are aware of this problem and are addressing it un some meeting
 
Hi all. Long time lurker, first time poster.

With using Home+Power, I was able to install. I'm all booted up and running 2.1. This was from vanilla 1.5.

It seems to have lost most of my settings. I'm going through it now to see what's there and what's not.

The Update-script file in the zip file only address 1.5 to update. It looks like they completely ignored the 2.1 testers and leakers.
 
You 1.5ers are going through the EXACT same thing us leakers went through three months ago...look at the 2.1 bugs and fixes thread to fix all your problems...:D

Technically, they should have. ;) Oh well, all v1 and v2 users might as well update to the v3 to have the "official" OTA.
 
wow...the delete files took a little while...I started getting scared...then it switched...now rebooting...and now im on a box with an arrow pointing to the phone...rebooting...green arrow circle thing with phone, then reboot...little skateboard androids...htc quietly brilliant...verizon fire screen...verizon wireless screen...waiting, waiting, waiting...waiting some more...please dont die little eris...I love you...and its on...went to an htc screen...waiting...loading screen! YAY!!! :)
