Installing the OTA 2.1 file

OK im now on 2.1! :) no gallery...still the same thing as 1.5. New Market...youtube app looks different...YOUTUBE WORKS!!! Yay Have Turn by turn directions...Most of the icons are different...will tell more as I see... :)

Thank you very much yes im on 2.1 had no idea there was a difference. Guess im stuck on leakv3. which i know is no different. just some kind of special luster to being on "official".

Hmm I think I'll wait and watch this a little bit more before I do.it. This works for leaks too? I'm on v3.

Oh well....Let me install the V3 version again.....Congrats to all the 1.5 people! I knew someone here would figure it out!

I have a idea....I'm going to the nearest Verizon store, tell them I got the OTA and I am having problems get a new phone w/1.5 and install the update.

You should have had all contacts as Google contacts and not Phone contacts. Unfortunately, those that were Phone contacts are now gone. FYI, save all contacts as Google contacts, that way they are always backed up on the Google servers and connected to your Google account. That way, when you upgrade to a new Android phone, all you have to do is log in with your Google account and all your contacts will be automatically synced to your new phone.
 
power and home worked and yeah at first not sure because no haptic feedback but then i held my breath for deleting files 20 times and then copying...and then... and then....:):):):):):):):):)
 
Extremely thrilled to say that after the update my PRL remained exactly the same, and I still have 3 bars of signal.
 
Went from 1.5 stock to 2.1.
I had to play around like everyone else.
1st had to move the update.zip out of the downloand file into the main file.
I also had to use the home button and the power button...
Finally crappy phone becomes legit. I was to scared to do a leak.
 
guys, im stuck on the screen after i rebooted, where the verizon logo comes up, do u have to wait for it to load, cause nits suck there i think i froze

That's normal it seems...you have to go into accounts and sync under settings and sync contacts and just leave the people app open and slowly but surely the contact pictures start showing up one by one
 
I know some people have 2 phones (theirs + wife/husband, whatever) and some leaked while other stayed on 1.5. Has anybody thought of trying to compare the 2 to see if there are actual differences between the leak and the OTA?
