Installing the OTA 2.1 file

It looks like it's finally done with the Verizon Wireless screen... Its loading something, its done. Thanks everyone.... I am so glad I stopped in today...... You all are so brilliant....

Yuup...I was just looking forward to the OTA in hopes it would fix the dialer lag and call recognition lag issues...other than that v3 is great

Did you try changing your slot cycle? This took care of my call recognition lag in v3.

I don't see one. Does it need to be enabled somewhere first?

Supposedly if you go to settings > text to speech > install voice data. you are supposed to get a new microphone button the normal text messaging keyboard. but i read on another forum that the keyboard needs to be updated before you will see that button. So more than likely we wont get that option.

Found that option in settings, downloading update fom the market now, I'll let you know once its done.

EDIT: Says installing voice data on SD Card...interesting

I changed it all the way down to zero...still takes 2-3 rings on phone dialing in for my phone to start ringing

Have you tried wiping and reflashing your phone with the v3, then changing your cycle setting?

Since most of us don't have that issue, I thought it might be a file hanging around or not updated properly during your first attempt.

Well have you tried calling your phone from another phone? How many rings does it take for your phone to recognize the call?

Changing the file name to update, going to the exclamation with the phone symbol then holding power + home worked. Now running official 2.1

no this is actually for the google TTS service that NAV uses to talk back to you. doesn't actually add anything to the keyboard. At least not on Leak versions.

Oh well....Let me install the V3 version again.....Congrats to all the 1.5 people! I knew someone here would figure it out!

I have a idea....I'm going to the nearest Verizon store, tell them I got the OTA and I am having problems get a new phone w/1.5 and install the update.

Will you do me a favor and let me know if this works? Could you send me a private message letting me know? If so..what was your excuse for it "not working"?

That's what worries me, the fact that the leaker users have low signal except when on a call. Like the radio hasn't been updated. I'm gonna go up to verizon this weekend and see if i can swap out my phone. i'll tell them that i just got the update and my phone's been shutting off at random or something. i have the phone protection plan thing too. usually it's pretty easy to get a replacement
