Installing the OTA 2.1 file

I ran the 2.1 update from the zip file today. Issues I have are no speech to txt, no pinch to zoom in google maps and I thought I read on the 2.1 features pdf for eris that it would have "improved swipe unlock functionality" ? Seems just as easy to unlock for me.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but when I ran the update, it said I needed 25MB internal free...I only had 23MB. Going to uninstall a few things and see if that helps...

BTW, I'm on stock 1.5, downloaded the file on my phone itself (not computer>transfer), and I'm following the OP directions. Will update soon.

UPDATE: Uninstalled a few apps (Where was the biggest one), with 27MB free (internal), I am now in the "Deleting Files..." stage...everything seems to be working.

Welcome, this is an issue that has been determined to be a mistake by Verizon...no one who has gotten the OTA update has been able to use those features yet.

Maybe this is just 2.1v3 and not the OTA..... What is all missing? So far no microphone on the keyboard....

We know Verizon has had a hard time keeping their word because of all the bug fixes. They probably just made a mistake on the PDF, or will like OTD said will come out with an update/patch.

How do we know its not somewhere in between OTA and 2.1v3? Its strange that certain things that should work are not working....

Because the update was logged, the URL pullled, verified by developers and installed on 1.5 phones. It's also the same file size as the posted file size as verizon. It came from googles website using a secured certificate. I'm not sure how much more proof you need lol

:cool:HTC's keyboard is not Android Stock, its their own. Is there a way to switch to the stock Android keyboard? It might have the microphone option....

VERY NICE!

A big thanks goes to ZeroRacer0702 for the log capture and to arothrock for the guts to do this and document it for everyone. Nice job guys!

My system information is different from the o/p after upgrading.

Baseband: 2.40.00.01.22
Kernel: 2.6.29-5898f66b
htc-kernel@and18-2 #1

Build: 2.19.605.1 CL123435 test-keys

Software: 2.19.605.1

..is that how it is supposed to be????

I also never got any of those screens where it said DELETING FILES.

It installed the update, rebooted, and done.

Also, more htc widgets not working :(

I don't think your upgrade was successful... none of your numbers are the same.
Try it again

Sooo...I have been voyeur here since I got mt eris on Super Bowl Sunday. I have resisted the temptations to install the leaks but decided to pull the trigger on the OTA via OTC. Much to my dismay, the first time I tried, I accidentally hit f-ing factory reset!!! GRRRRR! lol. However, after I went through all of the steps to set the phone up from the factory stock mode, the update worked. I just had to be VERY careful with that trackball. To this point everything is good with the phone and 2.1 is great.
