Help Insufficient Storage Space Available when downloading apps?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 with 1.8gb internal memory available and it says insufficient storage available when i try to download my PowerAmp back or HandcentSMS

Your best bet would be to ask in the S2 forum, as people there will know how storage is allocated on that device and any quirks. Best to tell them the total as well as free, and what Android version you are running.

When I get this message with my rooted Galaxy Ace, I just uninstall the previous updates and then it allows the new update. The new updates seem to include the previous updates too.

Hey I have an issue. I have over 500mb remaining on both internal and SD card. I can't download anything no matter what I delete. Its really annoying and if someone can help that would be great.
I have an unrooted Rca Jellybean tablet.

I presume that your phone isn't rooted. The Desire internal storage data partition is just 128mb. Although you can move apps to your SD part of it will remain within the data partition and all app data will remain there no matter what . Furthermore the app will install on the data partition before it can be moved. Therefore the amount of free space on your SD may be irrelevant. How much internal space do you have?

It's also worth considering that when you install an app that is listed on the play store as say 5mb that by the time the app has installed it will have built further files (data, Dalvik cache etc) it will be considerably larger than expected.

The best way to deal with storage issues with the Desire is to root.
