Insurance options for the LTE 4G?

Has anyone tried ZaggSafe? I'm not finding many reviews of their service online.

I can get two years of SquareTrade for $94.99, cheaper than ZaggSafe (although still a higher deductible per incident) using coupon code FF30. On the other hand, I tend to not keep phones more than a year (it's a problem, I know), so maybe I should just stick with the manufacturer's warranty.

I considered these options too and ultimately chose SquareTrade for 1 year (since I replace my phones yearly) -- SquareTrade has an excellent reputation.

The ZaggSafe looked like a great option, but as others have stated, has less of a track record. This doesn't make it a bad option though, and I commend you trailblazers out there! Let us know how it works out!

Zagg safe just started, so that explains the lack of reviews. If they are running it using the same customer service as their product division, could be nice to work with...

With the new LTEVO comes a new contract. I'm re-evaluating all the pros and cons and have come to the question of insurance.

For my OG Evo I rocked Sprint's insurance. My power port disconnected from the board and I had to do a swap. It was (minus the deductable) painless.

Now, with the LTEVO I'm wondering if I should go a cheaper route. Here are the three I'm considering:

Asurion (sprint): $264 (@ $11/mo) for two years, $150 deductable, 30 day enrollment period, 1 day turnaround for replacement, includes instore repairs.

SquareTrade: $125 for two years, $99 deductable, 30 day enrollment period, 1 day turnaround for replacement

ZaggSafe: $99 for two years, $59 deductable, 90 day enrollment period, 3-5 day turnaround for replacement, specifically covers rooted phones

I'm really leaning toward the Zagg insurance (I can live without a phone for a few days), but was curious as to opinions or experiences you may have.

Any of those cover loss or theft? I know sprint does, but what about the other two?

Without reading any comments, I can tell you insurance is a must. I can be an idiot sometimes which means my phone has/will hit the ground at some point. My old EVO went through tough times and finally crapped out due to a motherboard issue.

It's nice knowing if my $600 phone breaks, I can pay ~$100 to get another one shipped out.

I've asked Sprint 3 times and no one knows about insurance going up to 11 bucks. One person said maybe on the i phone and then another said it depends on the total retail of your phone. Then I read the deductible was going up from 100 to 200 but someone above posted 150. I haven't gotten any mails from Sprint saying it was going up. Best Buy tried to sell me there black tie. They said I had so many days to decide and then they a buy back phone program. I've only used insurance once when I lost a katana and had to pay 50 bucks. I was starting to wonder if I even needed it but I am keeping it cause I know if I get rid of it then watch something happen I don't know. But I'll probably just stay with Sprint easier and can stay on my bill.

Ensquared covers loss and theft. $99 for two years and a $75 deductible (maximum 3 claims)

Buy & Compare iPhone Insurance Phone Insurance Cell Phone Insurance

I've read some scathing reviews of ensquared. People not getting their phones, people getting the runaround, people getting different phones than the type they insured (i.e. they insured a Nexus S and got sent a Vibrant).

At this point I'm considering SquareTrade or Zagg. Zagg is cheaper and specifically covers rooted phones, but have almost no reviews at all because they're so new. SquareTrade has the best reputation but will they reject rooted phones? I guess I could always add some water damage so the phone can't be checked for root.

Our Sprint guy told us insurance was going up at the end of the month.

I still have 28 days to decide on switching to square trade and 88 days to switch to Zagg.

No decision yet.

I'm currently on BB's black tie though I don't like all of the fine print. I was told a couple of years ago by a mobile manager that black tie covered every single thing other than loss/theft. However if you look closely, they can deny you coverage for water damage if it's been determined that it was fully submersed instead of casually splashed or rained on.

The only reason I am kind of fond of the black tie program is that I have an Evo today because of it. I bought a palm pre and wouldn't have been eligible for an upgrade from the pre until a year ago. What a terrible phone. It ended up having some issues so I sent it away with best buy. 30 days later, with no phone in hand, I exercised my right to a gift card for the full cost of the phone and a week later bought an OG Evo on launch day for "free".

Now a new mobile guy tells me that their service centers are located in state so turn around on a repair should be 1 week rather than 1 month.
