Root Interceptor Rom Is awesome

I tried interceptor and liked the feel, but there were a few widgets that said they couldn't load. I clean installed twice, and redownloaded the pack the second time, but had the same problem. Is this normal?
I'm back to Radioactive Froyo now and it runs smooth. I may just keep it.

if the widgets you are referring to are located in the "samsung widgets" menu that pops up yes it is normal, dearmas has not added anything to that yet

The first step is to flash the stock rom with recovery which is available here:

file

That establishes root for you and puts a stock rom on the phone. Install that, log into your google account and allow it to completely synch everything, then boot into recovery and flash the rom.

Thanks, so all I need is put this file in the "Binary" folder and install it again?

Guess it wasn't me after all lol
Site is back up sorta new link:
Android Mobile Support • Login

Doesn't seem like the owner of that site (developer?) allows people to see any threads before they sign up. I am signed up to too many sites and like to be a lurker before I commit my information to them. Seems weird not to allow people to view things as guests. Anyway can you repost the ROM for those who wish to try before giving personal information? Thanks!

I think you can read all you want/need. It's just that you can't see the links to the goodies unless you register. Its still worth the effort.

Nope. Just checked again; states "You must be registered and logged in to view and post to the forums."

Whoops, you're right--they changed BB sites. But they really don't ask for anything personal other than an Email Addy. Go ahead and register.

This Rom seems to kill the battery really fast. The Radioactive Froyo Rom is as fast and has better battery life.

Every site I've ever been to allows non-registered users to peruse them as guests. This one doesn't. What is he hiding that he doesn't allow anyone access unless he has personal information?

An owner can limit access to their site however they see fit. If you wish clarification of this policy please contact the owner directly rather than derailing this thread, which is specifically about the ROM itself.

If you're using your only email address to register for stuff online you're crazy. Go get yourself a gmail or yahoo account and use it for anything online that asks for an email address and only give out your main email address to friends and family. I only scan through my gmail about twice a week to see if there's anything of value in there. I'll give it out to anyone...

I know this thread is a month old. I didn't see anything about the final version of interceptor. Figured a n00b's point of view couldn't hurt <grin>.

I had learned of ROMs and such from youtube for my moment. It was about dream 3.2. I decided to see what these modifications could do for my now 9 month old phone that samsung and sprint have left for dead.. oh well live and learn. Once I saw these videos I read for 3 weeks all over different forums trying to assess the pitfalls and benefits.

I couldn't believe what was available, and a big THANK YOU to all that create the ROMS, kernels and themes. You push the carriers to push the manufacturers to put in must have options to upgrade because you extend the life of the moment. (and any phone you do this for)

I finally settled on interceptor. To me it just seemed to be the fastest and most stable. So I went with it. WOW.... stock 2.1was 2.3 on linpack and 233on quadrant. v7 ... 8.5-9 in linpack and 322 in quadrant.

Then they suggested using Vampirefo 2.0.8 kernel (another 3-4 days a reading) and another OMG ... 8.8-9.2 & 324. Also, battery is amazing now.

Running live wallpaper and tether and the touchwiz. I can easily wait on a phone that offers more than just 4G and a better camera, with what my moment can do now.

Those guys at androidmobilesupport.com were very nice to me as I asked a ton of (what had to be stupid questions to them) and I am grateful to them for that. It seems though that that site is no more and also that most developers are moving on to the the new crop of phones. Even if nothing more comes out for the moment. thank you thank you thank you ... for everything you all have done (and yes some of the site bickering was juvenile, but it was easy to scroll past to get to what I needed, hehehe

Just my 2 cents

JD, I did the same as you except I moved from vampires to inferno 2.0 kernel because of data lockups

I have been pretty lucky, I've not had any lockups <knocks on wood> ... everything has run great for me. I love seeing the new droid 2 commercial with the girl on the bench using her NEW phone as a hot spot... and I say, I can do that

yeah, I was out somewhere and my friend had her ipad and said I cannot get online? I said hold on.... try now

Since I can't access the dearmas site and don't feel like registering can you please tell us the steps to flash this file?
Like do we have to go back to stock and then root with joeys?

Thanks in advance

Registration is free. If you don't feel like taking the 30 seconds to register why should any of us take the 2 minutes to get your phone updated?

i tried to load this and i have loaded alot of roms/themes. this one just sits and boots endlessly. too bad, i was hoping to see what the hubbub was about.
