I was looking at the evo 4g view tablet on line today and was wondering if anyone here has one and what they think. Also do es anyone have a tablet on the family plan and what it cost, if you can even do that?
Im asking here because i trust the answers from the main people here as if they were my answers. Thanks If this has to be moved please do so but as i said I was hopeing to get answers from the gods i trust.

Mike I have been looking at the HTC tablets myself. I like them because they are 7" screens and I am very happy with my HTC phone.

I'm not sure if you can attach it to a family plan but I know if I was to get one I would just use it as a tablet that I would connect to my WiFi at home. It is the same as the HTC Flyer except it has the ability to have a data plan and the Flyer is WiFi only.

It has just been upgraded to HoneyComb too. Which has increased the ability of the Stylus for it.

Hope this helps. I've been looking into them for awhile.

Yeah, there's no way in hell I would ever pay for a plan with a tablet.
Well i was thinking if it was like 19.99 like adding a phone is to the family plan It would be nice to have the 4G on the go. and right now the view is $149 at sprint on line.

I played around with one at a store about a month ago, it was pretty cool. It seriously is just a giant evo with no cell radio in it. It was quick enough I guess, I don't really know.
I would probably get something else at this point tho. That tablet is only a single core, limited space and RAM. If the specs are cool with you, the low price is enticing.

Personally I'd probably just get the Kindle Fire, root it and load a custom rom. :)

It is a single processor 1.5 but the internal storage is 32 gig and 1 gig memory
I guess ill have to do some more reserch.

I have one on Sprint. Like others said it's like a big Evo and runs Honeycomb now. I also have 2 Ipads (1&2) so I can compare. The 3g and 4g speeds are nice to have and away from wifi faster then my 3g ATT Ipad 2. But with tethering on your EVO you can get some decent speed no matter which one I use. I like the Evo View also for all the apps I have tied to my phone on my tablet. It's also easier to hold in landscape on the couch for example. It's pretty snappy and if you like Android then this will be right up your alley. I think it's the best Android tablet with the Samsung Galaxy coming in second. The rest of the Android tablets seem cheap. This one is made well and feels better built with an aluminum back and nice glass screen. Colors are rich and battery life is really decent. When you add the dual cameras and stylus option it really has a lot to offer compared to the competition and at that price is a steal. The HTC Flyer is the same tablet and can be found at Best Buys. Oh and the Flyer comes in white if that's your thing.

There are 2 forums under tablets here on Android Forums for both. Not really updated as much as the Evo forums are but none the less more info there too.

If you have any questions, fire away!

as much as i like htc and their phones. i am saving up for the asus transformer prime. i heard that they will also come out with a quad core tablet that will run $249.99. Nvidia, Asus Announce $249 Quad-Core Tablet | News & Opinion | PCMag.com

I share your sentiment. I too have played with with the flyer numerous times (my borther has one), and I almost bought one for my girlfriend for Christmas but... After reading the performance reviews of the Transformer Prime and the fact that it will be competitively priced I'ved decided that will be my first tablet purchase. If you already have a rooted evo then you can get nearly the same performance as the flyer, it's just a bigger evo.

I'ved owned several ASUS products, and while they aren't known for their build quality, the Transformer Prime looks to be on par with the most expensive tablets. I can attest that their equipment, it lasts...

i'm really now excited about the quad core tablet from asus supposedly going to be sold for at $249.99. i hope this is true and not just a rumor. i hope i do not have to wait too long.

If you are serious with this comment then the problem is not with the thread title.

To the OP: We bought a couple of Kindle Fires for Christmas. Great for what you pay. Main reason we went Kindle is because we have Amazon prime so the Prime content is free. My kids love them for gaming and reading. You can even check library books out on them.
.

i have not really played with the nook tablet but i hear that it is pretty cool. it has a micro sd card slot and it has a 1gz processor. i do like the fire. i bought one for my sister for xmas. have you looked into rooting it?

We have the TF Prime and love it. Now that it's running ICS, it's even better. I'm like others, 3G tablets, imo, are a waste of money if you are rooted. That being said, the extra cost of owning a Sprint/Verizon/At&t/T-Mobile tablet is a lot of money considering you can't use it as a cell phone. Most places have wifi anymore so......:)

Love our Prime. Even though the Prime doesn't work as a GPS navigation unit, GPS works as it should and I've had no troubles with wifi. Although some are having trouble with wifi, I believe it's a small amount of Prime's that are having this trouble;)

well we are big around here......so that means you as well:D and i'm really now excited about the quad core tablet from asus supposedly going to be sold for at $249.99. i hope this is true and not just a rumor. i hope i do not have to wait too long.

I doubt it would be the 10in tablet but I could be wrong, like anything else though, in due time prices will come down but I doubt we'll see the TF Prime come down to $249

Ocnbrze, I have the Transformer Prime, all I can say is... WOW!
Its like a supertablet. Especially running ICS:D
Definitely something worth saving your money for!;):D

+1
Battery life with this thing is also amazing. Even using it on consistent basis, after 30+ hours we were still at 60%:D
