Help Intermittent SMS alerts

I had this problem as well. GO SMS (now GO SMS PRO) worked a charm for me and it also solves the problem of accidentlly pressing the send button when you try to place the word cursor at the end of the text and that last word is right up against the 'send' button. The amount of time i sent half written text or had to turn the screen sideways only to find that the text disappeared makes me glad i downlaoded GO SMS!!

I have high expectations for the 2.3 update as there are some basic school boy errors that just need to be fixed asap.

Sorry to bump an old thread but i hope this is true. I've waited a while to install gingerbread and will probably do it in the next day or so. This would be great news. I don't like having two apps on my phone that can do the same thing, especially when the stock one can do it all fine, or at least could.

Anyway great news!
 
Since getting Gingerbread, I've disabled SMS Popup and re-enabled the stock app's notifications and it seems to be working perfectly.

SMS popup has a bug where it sends messages to the wrong person. Everything on your phone looks like the message went to the right person, but it actually goes to someone else. Bad idea to install SMS popup.

Do you have a link where that's noted? I've googled "SMS Popup bugs" and looked through comments on the market app and can't see any reference to that problem. I also used for 5-6 months and I never experienced this? Given the app only handles notifications and it doesn't actually deal with the sending of SMS, is this possible?

There was a very intermittent bug with early iterations of 2.2 which had similar effects (see link below), could that be what you're referring too?
