Root internal mounting problems

Sorry to chime in but I'm a veteran Prevail user & I've been using my newest acquired Prevail for a year now! Rooted of via Odin thanx to the wealth of knowledge available here thanx to all you awesome, smart folks! But I wanted to report that I too have had a similar issue but with the DreBeats From. For some reason my apps aren't automatically on my sdcard & in the past they would automatically transfer when rebooting the 1st time. This is a different issue I know but I've reinstalled it over & over, I've tried coming from a few different rooms, makes no difference. I got a class10 8gig microsd & it plays pretty well with my prevail so far but I do agree with the previous post saying some sdcards just so play nice with the Prevail... Just wanna say all you guys/gals are awesome, I only wish I could be half as smart with this stuff! But I love all this & my lil old prevail! Thanx Prevail Community!!!

Just keep hanging around and read, read, read. Also, the more you flash ROMs and mods, the more familiar you will get with your device. Also, and this is a BIGGIE, remember the GOLDEN RULE! Always make a recovery backup before attempting anything you are unsure of........ Heck, even if you are familiar with it, make a backup anyways. LOL!!!!

Those backups along with the availability of Odin can be life savers. I say this from experience. When I was learning, Odin and those recovery backups saved my butt on many occasions. That and the help of some great friends here in the Prevail section. They are the true heart and soul of this section.

Not sure what you mean by on sd card? Do you mean in settings/apps/on sdcard? If that is the case then that is not how you want to see them. You want them on the sd-ext partition. You would have to use terminal to see them, not on phone or on pc. On the phone it will read something like storage is 875mb free and 300mb used (or something like that, depending on how big you made your partition) is how you would know they are on sd-card.

Hey Bud, what I meant was when I flash DreBeats rom & reboot like always it loads etc. Normal & boots up I go to settings & go to applications & the apps system & otherwise should be mounted/saved on the sdcard apps2sd I think its generally referred to as!? I dunno it ain't like that now & that's what was bugging me cuz I actually like that rom once ya get rid of the go launcher & clean it up a bit thanx to rom toolbox pro! Well hope I explained better this time, having ADD sux! Thanx as always! As old as these lil androids get, I still love mine!!!

If ctmod installs than you might be able to do this... its been so long... I'd wait till another like lordvincent, wet, cm or vice gives some approval... but you can take a pc grab a copy of 7zip and...

1. Get BOTH copys of HB and CTMOD.. side by side in a empty folder..

2. Do not unzip... just OPEN AS ARCHIVE open both. Orherwize it will ruin the (((singing))) on the file...

3. Replace the system folder.. from CTMOD to HB overwrite the entire folder.. Do not merge.. even delete the one in HB zip before copying over.. than copy to sd card. And flash...

where is that guy who was gonna teach me to sing????

got bored and tried the above quote.
ok i think i did it right but when i tried to copy the zip from the same folder that i modified i noticed that i didn't see the zip write to the card.
it just popped up on the E drive folder(honeybread).
loaded the card and the phone said no files ect..so i kept poking and punching buttons on the laptop and i zipped the HB that i had just modded.
put it on the card(still didn't see it write).
the phone then seen the zip and tried to load then stopped with error.
ok then my sd flew out of the phone when removing(still can't find it)
pretty powerful spring i tell you!
ok i grabbed another card and said i'll just go to downloads and add HB cause it's getting late...hmmmm
zip wrote to card like normal and then did the ext mount and flashed the zip.
samsung popped up on reboot then HB theme...then.......CTMOD??????
i'm like WTF???
it booted up to ctmod 3.80 so i went back and formatted ext again and booted...it is booting now slowwww.
no harm this is the spare phone
my question is...the changes i made to the zips i put on my desktop actually changed the HB zip that was in my downloads????

anyways it's almost fully booted but it is ctmod not HB.
do i need more singing lessons??? LOL
