Root [International] Anyone tried Illusion rom?

I'm so tempted for an AOSP style ROM at the moment (haven't flash anything since April :eek:) but every time I try it 'wipes' the new internal memory that 4.2.2 gives you (if you know what I mean, when it adds sdcard and sdcard/0) so I lose my Titanium Backup and all my music etc :( Not sure how to get around it...
 
Its always just worked for me tbh but you could just move the Titanium backup file to Ext SD then back again man
EDIT is it 4.2 based roms youre flashing mate?

The backup is still there but you have to go to root / data / media

That's where all your pre 4.2.2 files are kept. Just copy and paste what you need over :thumb:

Obviously assuming you have them on your internal storage
 
I thought I would give UltimaROM another go (I really enjoyed it last time). I haven't flashed a ROM in ages, and finally the day I want to, xdatorrents.com goes down so I can't download it :(
 
Apologies slightly hijacking this thread, but as the P.A.C Man Rom was mentioned earlier I thought it made sense to ask it here rather starting a new thread.

Did anybody try it? If so is it a decent hybrid of CM, AOKP & PA? It sounds like a good idea but it also sounds like it could be a bit clunky and a potential to be a bit messy!
 
I cant speak for PAC but illusion is a complete hybrid of everything and theres no clunks lol so give it a try mate :beer:
 
I'm looking to flash a new rom, and this looks quite novel and fun to play with. Unfortunately I've left a bit too late tonight and I'm working the next 4 days.. Friday it is then :D
 
I've moved away from Illusion now, given its predecessor a go. Try me some Slimbean.

So far from what I gather everything is pretty much identical. Some of the options are in different places and it's not as loaded with transitions but it's smooth as hell like illusion. Biggest problem for me personally is no Halo, been using it for about 2 months now and it's weird not having the little things popping up everytime I get a notification!
 
I never really fell for halo man. Aparently theres Halo 2.0 with multitouch now. Theres some guys on G+ making nightly clean and modded PA builds for the i9300. im maybe gona flash one tonight. Illusion are putting out a 4.3 build for the US phones on fri :thumbup:
 
Yeah I've seen the video for the Halo 2.0 although I don't think I'd use it much that way tbh. Not very often I use multitouch gestures on my phone tbh!

Would like halo back tho, might give the app in the play store a try.
 
Give it a shot but it's garbage. It's called Portal and it's supposed to a non rooted version of Halo but it's nothing like it tbh
 
Nah ill give it a miss mucker lol. Could you completely remove your statusbar and just totally use Halo? I love my statusbar but it would be nice to never need it :)

Yep you can, I did when I was using PA. Had it in full screen mode the whole time and used Halo to take my notifications
 
What's actually new feature-wise for phones in Android 4.3? I looked on the official Google page in a moment of boredom...and left bored.
 
Thinking of changing from NeatRom. Can someone give the correct link to download it (UK unlocked s3)

Does it have the kernal in with the ROM, and if so is this the best kernal for it?

tbh not much mate lol. Aparently 4.3 is better on battery life but i dont know yet. The new illusion has a few new features though. I defo recommend it. Theres a zip file you have to flash with all the 4.3 roms to make them keep root so ask me for that if youre gona flash one :thumbup:

The kernel that comes with illusion is really nice man, you wont wana change it.
Want me to pm you a Box link for illusion, the gapps package, and the supersu file to make it keep root?
