Root [International] Galaxy S3 CWM Manager error

Did you reflash stock firmware before rerooting with cf auti root? If so backup your apps and ensure you are using a custom recovery then wipe your phone. Sometimes a wipe needs to be done after changing firmware to remove all the kinks.

There's no way that just having root can drain your battery, there must be an app going crazy or something. When you go to settings - battery, is it showing your phone as being awake constantly?

ok just in battery settings and have the following

Device idle: 40%
Cell standby: 34%
Screen: 18%
Android OS: 6%
Media:3%
Android system: 2%

I took it off full charge at 13.00 and now at 14.00 its at 84%. Sad thing is i havent used it in anyway what so ever

Ive only installed the following:

sixaxis controller
mame4droid
gsam battery monitor
greenify
cpu stats
better battery stats
shazam
tv catchup
triangle away
handcent

Its just to annoying the battery is draining way to fast. My old nokia n8 would way out last this by days. Dont get me wrong this phone is way way better but when im not using it the battery shouldnt plummet so badly

Yes I did flash stock firmware before cf auto root. I couldnt get Philz touch recovery to work from the link you gave. Downloaded necessary file, ran odin, put gs3 in download mode, select file in PDA, start and the phone just boots up normally

Did you try flashing Philz recovery before rooting, because you have to root with CF auto root 1st, then flash Philz recovery.

Also make sure you flash the tar file in Odin, not the CWM zip.

Yes did Philz recovery after rooting

Does it matter what version of Odin I use? As the v1.85 I have the options are ghosted. Odin3 3.04 has all options

Thanks, could you do this one though -

Also try checking out Kernel Wakelocks on better battery stats as opposed to partial wakelocks and see what shows up there

Just to add I've only had phone few days but first time I went into download mode in could see 2 counts of custom binary download. Would completely wiping it be the answer?

Somethings keepin it awake for big chunks there mate when screen is off

Whats best to do?

I think completely wiping the phone would be best as i dont no whats been on it before i bought it

Couldnt get philz recovery working

If you haven't already done so A full wipe is the 1st thing I'd do. Make sure you back up your SDcard (internal) as a stock wipe wipes everything

Please give me a step by step guide. This phone, software android is so new and i don't no any lingo. Need a basic guide

Ok just wiped the phone but battery is still draining way to fast. Battery already on charge again in less than 5 hours!!!

Yes still rooted on EMB5. Philz recovery never worked via Odin. My phone would always boot as normal.

In download mode i now have 7 counts of custom binary download.

How will running Philz recovery help?

Philz recovery or CWM won't help with battery drain, just checking what you have managed to do so far.

After you did the full wipe what apps/data did you restore

Also are you sure you are rooted, I've never had a problem flashing Philz recovery in Odin. Do you have superSU app in your app drawer

I used titanium backup pro, then did a factory data reset, restored the following apps

sixaxis controller
mame4droid
gsam battery monitor
greenify
cpu stats
better battery stats
shazam
tv catchup
triangle away
handcent

Also restored my pages so they are now the same

Just out of interest how long does your battery last from a full charge?

Cheers for your help so far btw

Yes definately rooted. SuperSU is still there. I flashed philz recovery sucessfully but from his guide it should have started but my gs3 kept booting as normal

When you restored your apps did you restore any system data with TB.

I would also try uninstalling an app at a time to see if any of them are the to blame for you drain.

When you boot into recovery ( from off, vol up, home & power ) do you boot into stock recovery still

Just booted into philz recovery with volume up, home and power. Reading his guide it reads like it would automatically happen. What do i use it for?

I only backed up the things i needed like sms's, contacts, memos, internet bookmarks. I'll try uninstalling apps. Noticed turning wifi off helps. Why doesnt it just disconnect when im not on the intermet?

How often do you charge your gs3?
