[International / GSM] Problem With ROM Manager

strykes

Lurker
So I unlocked the bootloader and rooted my LTE Galaxy Nexus with a bit of difficulty (I'm new to the rooting game and all that) but eventually pulled it off. Installed Titanium Backup, SetCPU, etc. I also downloaded ROM Manager and flashed a recovery with no problem. However, whenever I try to reboot into recovery or flash a ROM (In this instance, CM 7.1) just to try it out, it flashes on a screen that has the Android on its back, the chest open, but a red triangle with an exclamation point right above it. The only way to get rid of it is a battery pull, but luckily when powering up again the phone works perfectly fine.

what have I done wrong? I haven't done anything weird. I don't think. By the way, I used the bootloader unlocking and rooting methods from Droid-Life.

I would really like to fix this without totally locking the phone back up and flashing to stock again.

Thanks!

so I flashed into CM 7.1 and when the phone rebooted now it is stuck in a loop of "Set up Wizard crashed" and every time I say okay the window will come up again. I tried to boot into recovery when restarting the phone but that red triangle and Android thing comes up again. So yeah, I totally messed up my phone.

Why are you trying to flash CM7.1 anyways? It's based on GB framework. I'd suggest adb reboot recovery and wiping data (or restoring the nandroid you made before flashing CM7.1) to get back to stock

Just to try it out... I will give the adb reboot rec a shot now. I think I can

You're going to have to reflash CWM again. You can't get the phone to boot at all, right? If yes, are you familiar enough with adb to manually flash CWM?

No, but I am just gonna do a full wipe and relock. I am obviously not ready for this kind of thing.

Fair enough. A word of advise, if I may? Your mistake was flashing a ROM that is not compatible with your device. I understand you "wanted to try it" but doing things like that can get you in trouble. A full wipe should fix your issue. AFA locking it back up, it's not necessary, but I can understand why you would want to. In the future, if you want to try tinkering, make sure you're only flashing things that are compatible with the device

I didn't know it was incompatible. My mistake. Thank you for your help. I was lucky that Droid Life put out the relock and recovery guide today.
