Root [International] Omni vs Cyanogenmod

Whats your opinion on it mate? I shared the link on a G+ community i use a lot and noone seems phazed by it but a lot of them use Xposed so havent even tried ART yet.
I barely ever go on the CM community because its such a freeforall of rude people but might have a look n see what peeps are sayin about it

Yeah I think it's a bit over the top as a response. I guess it must be the peeps using it with apps that aren't compatible without checking and then blaming it on ART instead of their own lack of research that are the ones causing the outcry.

I haven't had any problems with ART. It is absolutely good enough for my daily driver.

It will be funny to hear the flaming from either camp.

I'm just glad that Temasek has the foresight to keep ART implemented on his rom.

Well one of the devs from that unofficial i9300 team ive been using says theyll definately be keeping it and they think CM will keep it and losing it was just an idea. Idk how these things work tbh lol :D

Funky, so what ROM are you using now? I'm still on Omni, I think I'll be using this one from now on. No major bugs so far, so I'm happy with it.

Still this unofficial CM build (TeamUB) mate but theres gona be no nightlys from them through the weekend so ill DEFINATELY give Omni a flash at some point. Maybe later when the mrs is at work :)

Lol i dont like onscreen nav. Even with pie, i like the one where you can set all the buttons as apps instead of nav buttons (cant remember whose pie that is lol)
The main things im craving on 4.4 is ability to map the capacative back button to go to last app with a long press and ability to hide statusbar until i get a notification. Can omni do them mate?

I like them mainly because the buttons feel more natural to press than the capacitive buttons, they are slightly too low in the position I hold the phone. Plus on the slimbean ROMs you could make them have swipe gestures which was easy to get my notification or quick settings bar down.

On the latest omni they've just added an immersive toggle which gives you full screen mode. They've also got long hold gestures on the capacitive buttons.

Still waiting on titanium but i downloaded the update while i wait. Really slick man!
How do i turn off (my pet hate) the button backlights?
Rom seems really smooth n i havent enabled ART yet. Might see if i can live without it :)

Lol i forgot about putting gapps into that folder when i updated and thought something went rong so i made a nandroid then restored UB and while it loaded i remembered the folder thing lol
So where is that folder?
Also has anyone found a DPI Density app that works with Omni?

:-D I'm very keen to try a 4.4 rom but as I just spotted here, no nav bar is a no go for me! :-D
I think omni is a very exciting project though

Also has anyone found a DPI Density app that works with Omni?

If you're not going to use ART isn't there an xposed module for that?

Actually kitkat is pretty fast without ART. I'm considering going back to dalvik so I can use xposed but haven't decided yet.

Yeah theres an xposed module but i like ART. Im in same dilemma as you mate. Its like heroin, if we hadnt tried it we wouldnt know what we were missing :)
Theres a DPI app im using on this CM build that works but doesnt with Omni :(

If you're using Omni, can you tell whether your battery stats seems a bit off? It often doesn't show screen on time and such. Seems strange

so i decided to give dalvik another chance because i miss xposed but on CM i wasnt impressed, lots of microlags. Ive put Omni on and although it benchmarks lower, it feels a lot better. Theres an update downloading so im gona try n suss out where to put my gapps etc.
P.s, has it reached 4.4.2 yet? Im assuming we'll have to use 4.4.2 gapps when it does?
Found the flash folder and update went perfectly. My DPI app even works on dalvik. Now i have to find a way to turn off these ****** backlights! Aparently the option is in the code so it must be the i9300 maintainer that hasnt thought to put it in the build
Maybe an xposed module can do it..

same here man. Gravity no worky with Omni :(
So my flirt with dalvik didnt last long lol, restored my nandroid from this morning.
Sherlock, hypothetically could you make that script into a flashable zip? Them backlights are the bane of my life. Id love to just rip the LEDs out :D
So im back on Team UB 4.4.2.
Gona try Validus later. I have their 4.4.2 build, dropped today on Box if anyone wants it
