Root [International] Rooting for PC idiots!!

The Poland release is stable enough so there's no reason why you can't flash it now. I get as good reception on the modem which came with the firmware than any 3uk modem.

If i wana flash say CM10, will ij work with that kernal?
I have clockwork "based" recovery now :)
 
If you flash CM10 it will have a different kernel (not quite sure what it's called) but you are free to flash an entirely different one if you like. Just make sure its definitely compatible before you do! :)

Regarding your second post just now, there won't be any mention of nandroid in CWM recovery. As long as you've done Backup and restore > Backup in recovery and its all done then that's fine :)
 
If i wana flash a european version of 4.1.2 to my UK phone. Do i just do that through CW or what?
Ive installed mobile odin pro lol as our pc is dodgy but duno how2use the thing.
id have guessed it would work kinda like rom manager.....

Mobile Odin flashes .tar files so if you haven't got any, use CWM. .tar is another type of Zip that you would find in Linux environments. I use Odin for kernels sometimes but I tend to stick with CWM>

Cool. Think i understand mate. So say i find a european 4.1.2 file(would it be a zip file?) should i download it to root of sd or EXT sd n flash it from there?
Will this unroot and will this custm kernal get in the way?

You can download the latest firmware from here

You will need to extract it to get a .tar or .tar.md5 and flash with Odin. If you use mobile Odin you can tick everroot so you won't lose root. I've never used mobile Odin to flash stock but I think you just put the firmware tar in system.

Sorry for the delay. You'll be fine to flash that with the kernel you're on. The kernel will be changed when you flash. Everroot is darked out as you haven't entered your firmware yet. Once you do that will be selectable. I can't guarantee the firmware goes in the system but that makes logical sense to me. Anyway mobile Odin has a makesafe so if it's not supposed to be there it won't let you flash.
I guess you'll need to flash siyah again after if you still want to use the kernel. There's been an update since last time so you can get it from here

I wouldn't recommend messing with mobile Odin tbh. If you don't understand it there's huge potential for catastrophic failure.

If you have specifically a system.tar, that goes in system but that wont flash a kernel.

Just download wanam and flash via cwm. Learn Odin when more is understood
 
Decisions decisions..... cm10 or stock? Aparently 4.1.2 is flying.
Any1 got latest version of cm10? And i do cm through CW right?
