Root [International] S3 NeatROM

Coming from a s2 and used Neatrom on that.

Is the latest version the best, or are there a few issues with it?

And what is the best kernel to go with it?

i would suggest you go for the 1.7 lite if u want to be able to use aroma mod otherwise go for the latest 3.0. If u are adventurous and want to try out 4.2.1 then go for the 2.0. Otherwise the 1.7 lite and the 1.7a aroma mod would be the best. For kernel i like siyah kernel its one of the best available.
 
Ok have a small issue. Did a full wipe before hand. And my handset was an hour old before i rooted and put this ROM on it.

Now and again when i leave an app open i.e message/internet/facebook and the phone goes to sleep mode and i hit the power button to wake it. It then freezes on this screen and needs a reboot to work again.

Anyone know a fix for this please?

There was an issue EMA2 ( v1.7 ) with random freezes/reboots, I think it was something to do with the SDS fix from Samsung. I had the same problem even after going back to stock EMB1.

All seems fine with the latest EMB5

Yes MB5's kernel is built on update 8 Source code in which Samsung released new and improved methods of preventing sds (which is catastrophic failure of the eMMC internal memory)

I strongly recommend performing a Nandroid backup before installing Rom​


Installation without wipe:

-Download, and save zip file to internal sdcard
-Go to recovery
-Select Wipe cache
-Go to Advanced and Select Wipe dalvik cache
-Select Install Rom SD card



Installation with Full wipe:

-Download, and save zip to internal sdcard
-Go to recovery, Select Wipe data, Wipe cache
-Go to Advance and Select Wipe dalvik cache
-Go to Mounts and storage, select Format system
-Select Install Rom from SD card
Note, first boot takes about 5-10 mins, so don't panic
Reboot device​
